Gangsta continues to be high action fun with...kind of a confusing and weak plot.

Gangsta is NEVER boring. That much I can say. This volume really focuses on the Twlights and what they are. However, we get real deep into a big brawl between to A class fighters. This ends in a pretty satisfying way. On the other hand we get a bigger look into the Mafia here and how it works. Last but not least our favorite female, use to be hooker, begins to have a mental break down. All in one volume, quite a lot huh?

Good: The fights are still over the top funness. I especially loved the brutal take downs some of this manga have to offer. Blood and gore are not held back. I also enjoy Al, she's pretty interesting character, and the banter between the 3 is great.

Bad: The plot itself is kind of run of the mil super warriors fighting each other. I also think the background and the way they're slowly showing the past isn't the best idea as it lacks a punch to the overall narrative.

This is a fun series for sure and I'll continue to read it but I'm hoping one volume really blows me away. I Feel it can if it focuses more on the characters and less on the action. A 3 out of 5.

Whoa this was...really good. Especially when the main character can be a complete dick.

So the story is about moving on with life. From one relationship to another, to learning who you are, if you're happy with your life, if you want to work at being better, and if you need to accept not everything will be your way. This is a story of Ben Tanaka who is really kind of a prick. Over critical of everyone, he also just kind of jackass, makes fun of his own race and such, and can't stand traditional things. On top of that he always wants to fight. Not to say all the people around him don't always act wonderful because they can be assholes too but his behavior isn't the prime of example of how to act that's for sure.

Good: Dialog. It's natural and really well done. They feel like people and their hardships are very much real and you might have went through it. The side cast is great, and Ben's main friend is a hoot. I also loved Ben because he's a asshole but that's who he is, and the stories doesn't change him. The hardships don't get fixed in one story, nor should they.

Bad: Some of the later pages get a little dragged down and I wasn't inlove with the ending. I got what they were going for but it didn't stick with me. I also thought sometimes people were acting childish but that's to show how human they were, still frustrating.

Overall this was really enjoyable. I'd probably rate it around a 3.5 to a 4 and recommend to check it out for a slice of life type comic. You might be surprised like me.

Whoa this was intense, well told, and visually great. This is a wonderful start to what might be my favorite Urasawa series and that's saying something.

So this is a world filled with Androids living with humans. They are trying their best to get apart of humanity and learn about it, and maybe even become it? It's a mix of emotions and storylines that all come together well. The story is really about a robot named Gesicht, a detective, who is finding out why others like him are dying. Something, someone, is killing them. It's a mystery that starts to grow into touching stories about human and robots working together.

Good: The fights, the talking, the quiet moments all come together so well. Touching moments that made me smile, laugh, and want to cry for the characters work all too well. The pacing is great, slow, but not ever boring, and the characters really feel well thought out and crafted. This is by far one of the most intriguing mysteries I've read in awhile.

Bad: Some of the flashbacks can be a bit confusing at times.

Overall this is great, amazing, and well done. I recommend this to everyone looking for a new Manga should check this out. Urasawa is one of the best writers ever to hop on the manga train. A 4.5 out of 5.

This was okay.

The problem with Supergirl is keeping a writer who wants to invest. Breaking the chain provides some fun little stories by Joe Kelly. One even about abusive relationships. But it all feels rushed and not fulfilling or giving justice to the character. Also a lot of sexual took for a teenager and while we all had talks like that, and plenty of sex, it feels odd for a Icon such as Supergirl to be talking about it to be honest.

Good: The art still remains good, more cartoony than volume 1, but the fights are big and explosive. Also the dialog sometimes hits the mark and you do feel bad for Kara a lot of the time. Also how great was that superman/supergirl moment at the end? Perfect.

Bad: The abusive relationship storyline is rushed and the PSA isn't strong on that one. Also the stories are all over the place, crossovers mixed up, and you will probably be confused on what's happening a lot of the time.

Overall it's a fun book, but it's not amazing. It should be but the jump on to different writers, artist, and then eventually left behind storylines that just kind of drift away. I'd go with a 2.5 for this one.

This was a real strange book. It's not great, it's not bad, it's weird.

So it's about two women trying to figure out life. This involves all the things in life such as bad breakups, family issues, love and drama, oh yeah and spy shit. So with the two women going through insane issues you have this undercover cop situation going on with a chain, stealing money, and a lot of weird crap that keeps piling up. Really, it's so odd it's hard to explain but it's def a interesting plot none the less.

Good: I enjoy the art a lot. Simple and fun. I also enjoy a lot of the dialog. it's easy, fun, and bouncing. They also feel like people talking and not cartoon characters. The ending was also interesting and keeps it open for new ideas.

Bad: The plot itself is all over the place, and sometimes it doesn't know how to hold back. Like it's going for all out wacky story but then it wants to settle down and it feels disjointed.

Overall fun little weird story. I'll check out volume 2 sometime but this didn't make me go "I MUST READ 2 RIGHT AWAY" Like after finished Rachel Rising.

Well this was the weakest by far for me.

So the storyline is just basically a big old "oh we fucked up let's cover it up" but of course no one can be trusted, everyone is a backstabber, and the ending ends in a "well everyone might be dead" but you know they aren't.

I just didn't enjoy this one as much. I didn't like any of the characters, the art makes it REALLY hard to enjoy the fight scenes, and there really needs to be women in this series who aren't whores. Like it's insane...

Ah the Avengers book that got me into the Avengers back in High School.

Avengers is pretty big now. Everyone loves them. The movie changed the marvel universe and pretty much ALL superhero movies. However, back in the day, Avengers weren't a huge name. New Avengers by Bendis decided to change that. Let's get some big names in this group right? It worked for Justice League. They added Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in the 90's. Bendis took Spider-man, Wolverine, and Cap and had them all team up. Instant Success!

This storyline begins with a huge breakout. Forty Six villains escape but not before a massive fight breaks out that has our heroes Spider-man, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Cap and more fighting for their lives. The second half is going after the person responsible for the break out. In doing so we're introduced to Wolverine!

Good: It's neck-break pace, quips out the ass, and big brawls is all Bendis signature style after House of M. So it works here because all the characters feel like themselves but together, and you got to love seeing Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Spider-man all talking shit together. Also the art is great, a mix of moody atmosphere yet uplifting moments.

Bad: The 2nd half isn't nearly as engaging as the first half. While it's good introduction to Wolverine for the team it's hardly as exciting as the breakout.

Overall this is a lot of fun. Like Justice League volume 1 for New 52 this is movie style fun all over it. Big, exciting, funny, and kickass, this is sometimes what you want in superhero books. While it's not deep or epic as Avengers by Hickman I'd argue this is a much better point to start Avengers comics. It's easier to get in to and you'll really come to like character who weren't big at the time like Spider-man and Luke Cage. A 3.5 out of 5.

Years ago I tried to read Fables. I believe I got to volume 4 or so. Not bad or anything just didn't connect. Years later I'm trying once more. Results? Better but still lacking.

So if you don't know Fables, well where the fuck do you live? It's one of the biggest comics ever created, spanning over 20 volumes giving you a massive amount of storylines featuring some of the biggest named fairy tale character's ever created. In the first volume Snow Whites sister goes missing. Bigby (The wolf from little red riding hood/3 pigs) is the detective for these fairy tale people and begins to hunt down who could have done this.

This main story really focuses on building the world here. Giving us a wide range of different characters, and even at that, feels like it's just peeking into the top of it all. By the end we figure out one case, but you know there's a lot more coming.

Good: The art is really solid. It also boast some colorful and fun characters. The pacing isn't half bad either giving you a solid mystery that makes you wonder who could have done it. Also Bigby and Snow White are great.

Bad: Some of it is overwhelming, and the characters presented feel like you should know them before you do. Also the characters seem a little typical on their tropes they are given before this story based on their fantasies.

Overall this is a solid introduction. I'm hoping I fall in love with later volumes like many here have. If not atleast I gave it a second go. A 3 out of 5.

I'll admit, I like Sentry. Sure he's a superman copy, but he's basically a Superman who can't control his own thoughts but can be a good person but not all the time. OH yeah, and he can manhandle all the avengers, F4, x-men and more.

This volume really focuses on Sentry. There's short story at the start to show the New Avengers handle one of the escape convicts. It's fun and exciting and gives time for Luke Cage and Spider-woman (So sexy) to kick ass and shine. Bu then the whole team goes after Sentry, to have him join the Avengers, and now we go into a mind-warping experience. The VOID comes out and he ain't a very fun thingy!

Good: The art still remains great and the designs and fight scenes are great. The Sentry is a compelling hero IMO and I always enjoyed his messed up self. The short little trip to stop the Wrecker was great. The ending leaves it up to big things getting set up and I love the Illuminati meetings.

Bad: The background of the Sentry can be a little goofy and very very meta. It's fun but I can see people hating that background. Also the heavy dialog of bendis sometimes stretches scenes here that don't need to be.

Overall another really fun volume of New Avengers. I believe I stopped around volume 7 but remember enjoying a lot of it. So far this is all good memories. A 3.5 out of 5.
