This ninth books takes place nine months after the events that took place in Blue Moon. Edward calls in the favor Anita owes him from a previous book, so she heads to New Mexico to make good. They are trying to get to the bottom of a series of murders, and the skinning of surviving victims. In this book, we get to learn more about Edward's mysterious personal life, and we meet other mercenaries who shed light on Edward. We meet several new characters in this book, and learn about Aztec vampires. It was a great book, mainly due to the insights about Edward.

After the conclusion of World War II, the Allied forces, (United States, Great Britain, France, and Soviet Union), came together to form the International Military Tribunal. This is more commonly referred to as the Nuremberg Trials, for the location of the court proceedings. Seven organizations and twenty four major war criminals were indicted for the activities during the war to start out with. After the conclusion of the initial trials, more proceedings were held at this location. This book gives an outline of the indictments, the crimes, the players on both sides of the courtroom, and the outcomes.

This book was gifted to me by my wonderful sister, so I loved it for that reason to begin with. It was very informative, and offered a great overview and valuable facts about the trials and the people that were charged. I do want to learn more about the subsequent trials, so I will have to be on the lookout for a book like that. This was a pretty good book, especially since it was a gift.

I bought this book because I thought it would be a good supplement for my historiography class. It was not. I thought the book was boring, and I hate to say that and give it such a low rating when apparently everyone else thought it was amazing. This is my personal opinion though, so if this is something you are interested in, by all means, check it out. It was well written and contained some interesting facts about famous historians, which was entertaining enough. I just didn't get into it, and I think I misunderstood what it was meant to be about when I bought it, which facilitated my disappointment.

The Norman Conquest refers to the invasion and occupation of England in the 11th century by a multitude of people led by William the Conqueror. He claimed his right to the throne based on his relationship to Edward the Confessor, who was childless. William's main opponent was the brother in law of Edward the Confessor, Harald Godwinson. Having defeated Harald, William still had to put down some rebellion in country. This book was well researched and offered a lot of information about each of these historical characters and the battles they were involved in.

I bought this book on Audible a while back, and am finally about to finish all the books that I had saved up on there since I temporarily canceled my subscription. I had put this one off because it was well over ten hours long, but I am glad that I finally got around to it. I learned a great deal from this book about the Norman Conquest. I did not realize that William the Conqueror ordered the Domesday Book to be completed. He also introduced new language, farming techniques, and abolished slavery. It was really amazing.

This book kind of bored me a little, and I had to make myself continue reading it. It was interesting to see how a little kindness and openness can change the way that people think. So many people were born to racist parents and raised to be racist. It takes patience when engaging with someone like that. People have to want to change, want to learn, and want to be better. I hope more people decide to change and reach out to others to help them be better people. That is something that society certainly needs more of.

This was a very good book. It spoke about a German family who was not impressed with Nazi rule, and what happened to them for taking that unpopular political stance. I think that books like this, from former Nazis and other German civilians are so important to understand the political climate and how things were leading up to and enduring through the war. I thought it was very informative.

I ordered this one when I was on a disaster reading kick. I remember very well when Katrina happened. Even though I am well inland, we had a lot of people in our town that had evacuated, and we even had some stay for a while that wound up being students at my high school with me. That whole experience was harrowing for so many people and was just a fiasco. I recall the images of the devastation and descriptions of bodies in that stinking water, and I have no idea how I would have handled such a thing. This book was a first hand account from a survivor and what they went through before and after the storm.

I thought the case involving the ship's captain was especially interesting. Overall, this one was one of the more interesting crime files books that I have read. I wish that there would have been more detail about the ship's captain's case, but it was a decent read.

This book features several women that have connections to organized crime. The stories are brief, a couple of chapters for each subject, but the stories are interesting. Victoria Gotti, daughter of John Gotti is featured. She is a novelist in her own right, and made appearances on the show Mob Wives. Lana and Rene Graziano were also mentioned, but this was before Rene was a Mob Wives star. Karen Gravano, daughter of Sammy The Bull was mentioned as well, also before her Mob Wives and book fame. While this book was slightly out of date, published in the early 00s, it was still interesting and worth the .25 I paid for it. I am a collector of all organized crime related books, so this looks nice on my shelves.

The decline of the country house after World War II is something that I have read about briefly in other books, so I was quite interested when I saw this book on Audible. The book was very well written, and featured details about lives of many individuals and their country houses. It was amazing the amount of disrepair that some of these houses found themselves in. One house had saplings and fungus growing from the walls! A lot of people found themselves selling off items from inside the houses, as well as surrounding lands. Fans of Downton Abbey would recognize this problem from the show when they were struggling to find a way to make the land pay for itself. I really enjoyed this book for the historical and societal implications, but the gossip that was included was also intriguing.
