Such a beautiful book and I love the narrator so much but I think this is too heavy for me at my current emotional state. I might come back to it later because like I said, it is very good. Just heavy.

Golly gee, this was horrible. Absolutely gob-smackingly awful. To start, Liza and Max? Matt? Don't care, they're both terrible, annoying, underdeveloped characters. Their entire relationship (or at least 98% of it) is based on insta-love and hardcore trauma dumping. They are so out of touch with reality. I think there is a difference between knowing each other as friends of siblings for a long time before falling in love and literally falling in love after two dates. When they don't fucking have any sort of relationship prior. During these two weeks they also manage to break up fucking twice. I hate them so much. That's so fucking toxic. 

The other 2% is hiding the whole dumpster fire from Vinny, Liza's overprotective and personality-lacking brother. I actually just don't fucking care. I hope Vinny punches Max-Matt in the face. I hope Liza gets trapped in an endless time loop and is forced to look at her disgusting personality every day and relive her horrifyingly imprudent life decisions over and over and over again until she slowly loses her mind, and when she does she has to watch herself losing her mind all over again, recorded and on repeat. How is an adult woman this much of a pre-teen child. She is a threat to herself and to society. 

I think this is less about the book than about me/my own life experiences at this point. I'm still mad about this book tho. It's not good, and I don't see it getting any better. If it does I will be shocked. But I will also never know.

i feel lowkey very guilty for DNF'ing this one, i've been on hold for it for way too long + i've been dnf'ing so so many books lately... however, i think it's time when i start having the "who should i text for advice on whether i should dnf this book" conversation in my head and trying to convince myself that i shouldn't dnf bc of guilt over the long hold and the fact that i've been dnf'ing so much
