I loved loved loved this book. It made me laugh, I deeply cared about the characters and it opened my mind up to so many things. It is one of those books that I know is going to stay with me for a long time.
Aw, this book was nice - a lovely absorbing read that took me in completely. It was well written with believable, loveable characters, but the reason it's not getting more than 3 stars is because when I got to the end I couldn't help but feel that I wanted something more from it. The book hinted at and threatened to twist and turn with more than what actually happened but it didn't pan out and I felt like it was over way before I was ready for it to be over.
God, this book was cheesy and not even in a good way. The writing was mediocre and somehow managed to make the story boring as hell even though the events that took place in the story weren't *that* bad. I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1 because there was a moment about halfway through that really did take me by surprise and made me rethink what I thought would happen.
This was a recommendation from GoodReads, based I think on that phase I went through a few years ago of loving Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult...

This book had an interesting beginning but quickly unravelled thanks to a million secrets and characters and things happening. It was boring despite there being so much going on. I would've much preferred the entire book to be about Tamara and Marcus' relationship, or about how Tamara finally finds her way, helps her mum and becomes a better person but instead the author tried to create mystery and suspense that just fell flat.
It was a bit of a chore to get through - I didn't like how Jenny turned up randomly (it felt like Kelk was merely saying 'Look! I've done better things in the past!') and I really couldn't warm to Dan, though he was meant to be really nice to her and had always been in love with her. It started off well but this didn't carry on, which is sad when her I Heart... series is one of my favourite chick lit series.
This was a short, fun read that was very funny and more than a little bit silly. I would have absolutely loved this when I was younger
This book was enjoyable and had a really interesting plot but it lost steam towards the end. I think in hindsight there could've been a lot less of the training included so that the ending could've been fleshed out a little bit more. But I guess the next book will answer any questions and explain things a bit more.
It's a shame in a way that Divergent seems to be living in the shadow of the Hunger Games trilogy as I did judge it against HG and found that it didn't quite match it. But I'll definitely be reading the next two and watching the film.
