God, this book was cheesy and not even in a good way. The writing was mediocre and somehow managed to make the story boring as hell even though the events that took place in the story weren't *that* bad. I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1 because there was a moment about halfway through that really did take me by surprise and made me rethink what I thought would happen.

This was a recommendation from GoodReads, based I think on that phase I went through a few years ago of loving Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult...
