Light and endearing. I enjoyed Aria’s strong personality to fight for what she wanted and be honest and the tension Will dealt with, and protect. It was a good mix and progression even tho it was all tied up in a bow. 

I liked the concepts about dealing with your past and emotions and confronting difficult things, and the importance of community and support. But a lot of the book felt really repetitive. And other times there just seemed like Yara had abrupt changes in her behavior that didn’t feel natural or in line with her character.

Cute and light romance. I related to Shelby and her health condition, getting the not wanting it to be a burden or be discounted or limited but also learning it’s ok to let someone take care of you. I thought it was portrayed and explained really well

Well written and I loved learning about new aspects of the war like Guernica. And I love a good spy story, of course. 

I thought the book did a great job at weaving in various major occurrences of Nazi German like intense propaganda, removing children with disabilities from homes, blackmail, and the rocket program. The conflict Sibi felt but realistic and purposeful approach she took were difficult but relatable, as you put yourself in her shoes. I loved her tenacity and determination to use her situation and take back control that the Nazis continually took from her. 

Really well done and hard to put down. 

If a Hallmark movie could be both crass and vulgar this would be it. Not my cup of tea. DNF

It was ok, but the process and especially the end was just really sad to me. And I didn’t like any of the characters. 

So much of it didn’t feel realistic as well too. Both the final outcome, and mostly the main character, Chloe just didn’t feel realistic. 

She was an awful therapist. Pretty much every therapist I know in real life also *goes* to therapy because they know they need it - listening to other people’s issues and making sure they are not unhealthy as they advise/listen to others. And yet she was arrogant and unhealthy enough to refuse anyone’s help each time it was (rightly so) suggested. It made it feel like the author just slapped a convenient job description so she could write fake scripts for herself.

Enjoyed the MC, Cassie overcoming a lot to prove her worth and skill at being a firefighter in a world of men. I thought it was well explained the obstacles she was against and loved the concept of forgiveness throughout. 

It was an easy read and very tied-in-a-bow ending but I still really liked it and thought it was well written.

Super creepy, not predictable, excellently written, and so hard to put down. 

I enjoyed the main characters of Perliett in 1910 and Molly in present day. Perliett was a great stubborn and not-afraid-of-confrontation female character, and her antagonistic relationship with George made for great banter and character growth. 

Molly’s timeline was emotional and heartbreaking. Her character development felt relatable and had me empathizing with her, as she battled with her grief, and shame, and brokenness. Her story was just so well done and it was so easy to be invested in it. Her friendship with Sid was terrific and love that it was emphasized, since gnat can make such a difference when we are struggling like she was. 

I thought the views on spiritualism and psychic events based in truth was very well done. I liked that it wasn’t all tied up with bow completely because there’s plenty God keeps a mystery, but the rest was so well conveyed and contrasted. 

And, as one of my main requirements of a good mystery are, it was not predictable. Really enjoyed it and I’d say it’s one of the better mystery/thrillers I’ve read.

It was an easy romance but with actually a lot of depth to it at the same time. I really enjoyed both Naveah and Lamont as characters, and the supporting characters were also endearing and well done. 

I appreciated the realistic perspective of dealing with the paparazzi and that things are not all they’re cracked up to be when fame comes into play. The struggle Naveah has on many levels, but especially on others perception of her, I thought was relatable and I well rounded, especially under that sort of public scrutiny. And I thought the Christian concepts morality and conviction were current and identifiable struggles for the characters to wrestle with. 

I also loved the truth and depth about the focus and value of church and community. I thought that was so well written and fantastically conveyed.

It was an interesting look at both women in work and racial tensions in the 1960s in Baltimore, thru the lens of a couple unsolved recent murders. 

I think the writing was good and, while it took me a bit to figure out what was going on, the little snippets of the peripheral characters I thought was actually the most interesting part of the book. I just didn’t care for the MC very much. She was so self-focused and selfish, not regarding anyone around her and how her actions affected her, and much of that was really sad. 

The story itself tho, and the way it unfolded tho was good.
