I’m not usually a fantasy fan but I really enjoyed this one. There were times in the fast pace or the foreign content of the book, it had me struggling to keep up with what was going on in the beginning (at least on audio) but other than that it was well written, held my attention and had me invested in the characters. It was creative and intriguing and I liked the military-esq camaraderie, as well as the mystery.

These were cute short story spinoffs of the Disney princess fairy tales. They were fun and I liked the interpretation the authors gave. A couple got a little cheesy with the verbatim dialogue at times, and most really weren’t Christmas themed but more winter-set, but overall I liked the spin they gave and how creative they were translating them into a modern day story.

I have a really hard time reviewing books that are a collaboration of author stories. Inevitably I really like some and don’t care for others as much. Given that, I’m rating based on an average of all of them. My favorites were the Snow White and the Cinderella novellas.

Cute and Hallmarkish but felt a little rushed and sort of too easy I guess. I did like the concepts of it and the characters

Easy ww2 mystery with an interesting setting of Churchill’s war bunker. The murder and information leak made for good whodunit flow, but much of it just felt unbelievable to me and there wasn’t much character development. It felt really far fetched for Evie to just be given the reins so often - and for her to constantly figure things out before anyone else, even a trained professional. And I felt like Poole’s character was only half there and very surfacey even tho he was integral to the story. Overall I did like it and it was an easy read, just not my favorite.

Really enjoyed this a ton. I literally burst out laughing multiple times - it had the best snarky, sarcastic humor in it that spoke my language. The Christmas theme was fun and didn’t make it cheesy, just sort of set the scene with some fun plot lines.

Well written and a good look at grief in various forms and how everyone responds to it in different ways.

I will say it was extremely sad, and I knew the ending was coming for the majority of the book. But I wasn’t just sad for the ending but rather, all thru the book between Josie and Max. I struggled with both of their refusals to talk and show compassion towards the other, instead letting their wounds dictate their response, even in opposite extremes.

The story was interesting and the scenes well described but I didn’t like the characters. They were all volatile, petulant and constantly jumped to conclusions without asking questions. It felt a little over the top at times.

Totally sucked me in and had me throughly invested in June’s story. Really well written and the story was just so creative in the spin it gave on a time travel story. You could feel the emotions June and Eeamon felt and it felt very relatable.

There were a couple things that weren’t totally addressed once everything came to light. But it was a great story with tons to think about as is, and had me considering it every time I put the book down. Well done.

This was a sweet story and had some interesting backstory of CS Lewis that I enjoyed. It felt a little simple and sometimes flat to me but it was a good storyline and I liked Meg as rhetorical MC.

I really have so much respect for Beth Moore, with how she's consistently spoken the truth and what's right even when so many people in her own circles disowned and railed against her. And how she's walked thru so many dark places with hope and honesty, and has a heart to follow after God's calling on her life even when it's ridiculously hard.

I can't say I understand her adult relationship with her father after what he'd done, but I also know that God gives some people a grace for others that doesn't make sense, as well. It's just hard for my brain and my heart to process that.
