I am speechless. Everything was perfect. This was so beautifully written, the way each character had their emotional journey and finding their place within the pack, with their found family. It was everything I wanted and loved in a romance, not just an omegaverse/ why choose book but the caretaking, the friendships, and the pure primal lust were all enlightening. EL had accomplished so much in this book and it's one of my top reads in 2024.
I've been trying to write down my thoughts since I finished the book but I'm having difficulties putting it into words. Just flashes of awe and wonderment: from the prologue melancholy and high heat beginnings, to the Asian culture realism and induced childhood flashbacks, then their delightful banter and pure adoration for the heroine. The three disciples worship their goddess with reverence and devotion at her altar. Utter perfection.
Special thanks to Eliana Lee for the review copy and here is my honest review. The Heat of Us will be available on 31 May.

I am destroyed. Well, just chapter 1 destroyed me emotionally and EH continually to give me an emotional beat down like I owe her money. I love the jilted lovers coming together, the fake dating and their trauma-bonding. Perfection.

Short daddy novella with a heavy storyline but insta-love prevails.

The premise was so interesting and so much potential: a whimsical bookshop that is sentient and playful? Wonderful, but the writing and plot failed to deliver on the promise. I am left disappointed.

Okay, a lot of thoughts. Once I got over 30%, the book became an easier read. Diana was mean and straight up cruel to Shane when he first moved into the condo. She was a difficult heroine to like when her immaturity was on display for a big chunk of the book, but she's also devoted and compassionate. I don't love her but I don't dislike her either. Shane on the other hand was a star with the things he had to put up with. We already got a hint of that from the previous book, but this book just cemented the fact that he's perfect.
I enjoyed so many bits of this book: the friendship groups, the glimpse of the Off Campus fam, the family relationships and the dyanmics when Shane and Diana eventually became friends.
But also equally a lot of unenjoyable side plots that I don't feel are successful. I'm not a big fan of exes being a major plot line in the story and this had two!! I do however recognise the difficult subjects being protrayed and the process of dealing with trauma.
I will also echo all the other reviews saying this is EK's spiciest book to date. No notes. Diana and Shane had great chemistry and I am grateful for the kink rep.
Thanks to Little, Brown Book Group UK and NetGalley for the arc and here is my honest review.

Five completely unhinged sweet nutty stars. I have no words. It gave me stuff I didn't ask for and I loved it. All of it, the complete obsession of the heroine then the hero obsesses back. *Chef's kiss*
Only criticism is no way a four year old talks like that.

Charming hero is very charming and I can't get past his accent, it's doing me head in. Hero basically ruined the heroine's life and he beauty and the beast-ed her. I'm okay with it because he's a tortured BB looking for love.

I loved the childhood friends to lovers premise with second chance angst. The moon night is the biggest cockblock of these books, really draws out the tension. So much lore and building up to the next book. Can't wait!
I noticed a lot of Yoda speak 50% in and once I see it, I can't unsee it. I don't recall it being that prominent in the previous books. "Strangers they should be" "barely did she see it then" "So dark it would be"

5 smutty breedable stars. All the best tropes: breeding, daddy, dad's best friend, pure obsession. Chloe Maine doing her thing but make it baseball.
