THIS WAS FUN.

Kasey Stockton absolutely nailed all of the banter in this book. I was laughing and smiling and loving the intensity between Lauren and Jack. It was fun having the cruise ship setting and all of the antics that went along with that.
I loved the general plot between the main characters and how they had to work through some of their differences and work obligations to find that compatible ground between them. I loooved seeing all of Jack’s family and the small town goodness that came from going home.
Lauren’s sister did sideline some of the story for me. Her sub-plot felt very main plot in the second half and I was missing the conversations between Jack and Lauren. A sweet book overall though and I’m excited to see who’s story is next in the series.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses

Thank you to LibroFM for the audiobook and Ro Romanello PR for the gifted copy.
THIS HURT.
I’ve gotta admit, I’m actually not one to pick up a widow based book because it sends my own anxiety through the roof. BUT, I had heard great things about this and still wanted to give it a try and I honestly enjoyed this so much. This was EMOTIONAL and heartbreaking and slowly but surely watching hope and time win out in the battle against losing your spouse way too soon.
I liked that Kate was a mess. I felt it was accurate to the story being portrayed. Grief is an up and down, absolutely non-linear battle and we saw many facets of that fact. The flashbacks only increased the emotional turmoil and showed how deep and raw this journey has been.
If I was being a little nitpicky I do wish there had been a touch more romance (because my initial interpretation of the book was that it was a romance first). But, upon finishing I saw the plot as a whole and feel like it went where it needed to in order to allow Kate to find some solid ground for herself.
If you’re in need of a good cry book, this is it.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Fiction + Romance
- Language: some strong
- Romance: closed door
- Violence: low
- Trigger/Content Warnings: losing a husband to early onset Alzheimer’s, miscarriage, grief depiction, mentions of losing a partner (briefly recounted, cancer)

This was a great audiobook. I liked many aspects and look forward to reading book two!
The two main FMC’s had a lot going for them and I liked their journey. There’s a lot of complicated matters happening and I loved the push and pull of what’s right and wrong. There’s some subtle romance plot lines I would love to see some more depth in.
I liked the magic system involving tethers, animals and more. I think that was explained well and I followed that much easier than I did the overall world building. I feel like I’m still a little confused on who’s who and what’s what across the board.
This was a nice series starter and one I’m grateful I had the chance to listen (definitely recommend the audiobook).
Overall audience notes:
- YA Fantasy
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: moderate-high

This was a sugary sweet novella. A marriage of convenience around Christmastime. I enjoyed it and liked the main characters. Some repetitive inner monologue and lacking the last something that brought out the feels. Good for the season with plenty of winter fun.

I enjoyed so much of this book. I liked all of the traveling aspects and seeing Jenny find her own sort of path in the world. Tom was GONE for her from the get-go and the way he looked after her made me weak.
The banter and soft teasing between them really lit their chemistry on fire. I loved their interactions and how much forced proximity was squeezed out of this adventure.
I struggled a bit with Jenny’s hard headedness during the third act, but I found the final moments super sweet and romantic. Another great read from Mimi Matthews. She is a wonderful comfort author for me.
Overall audience notes:/b>
- Historical Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: heated kisses
- Violence: moderate
- Trigger/Content Warnings: colonialism, mentions of war, loss of loved ones, mentions of child abuse (recounted)

This was such a whacky plot idea that actually really worked in the holiday romance section. It’ll make you laugh and cringe, but ultimately enjoy the journey and all of the love that was found through returning those five rings.
The romance grew on me, but I wasn’t immediately sold. I think the timeline could have been stretched a little longer and I would have believed Eve’s turnaround a little more. Not to mention she was drunk for at least half the book and that was a little bit muddled for me too.
I loved the spirit of the season and the holiday moments. The ending was super sweet and it was just a enjoyable read. I’m glad I picked it up!
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Holiday Romance
- Language: strong
- Romance: kisses; innuendo throughout
- Trigger/Content Warnings: catching your boyfriend cheating, alcohol consumption

I am here for this series and am committed to reading book two now.
A small rocky start for me because I really prefer a little more dialogue in my reads, but as the story progressed I got invested in the characters, romance and plot and found myself actually almost finishing this in a day.
I loved the multiple POV’s. It was done well and only enhanced the story. I am curious about even more world building aspects from this and actually really liked that this didn’t have a complex magic system, it didn’t need it.
The romances have my attention. Some fantastic slow burns are brewing right now and I can’t wait to see those continue. I love when a couple isn’t fully together in the first book, draw it out, make me want more, and this has made me want more.
A good (maybe slightly predictable) plot, characters you’ll love and a story I think can be enjoyed by a lot of people.
Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: make-outs
- Violence: high
- Trigger/Content Warnings: loss of a loved one, weapons violence, battle themes, kidnapping

I love holiday books that bring a new journey. A CIA agent and a bodyguard? YES PLEASE. I loved this. It had the perfect balance of rom-com vibes with a bit of romantic suspense and I was here for every moment.
I loved the romance between Sydney and Nick. The chemistry was there from the beginning and watching them clash through fantastic banter made me laugh and kick my feet throughout.
The journey for Sydney and her sister was great too. I loved seeing Sydney’s character growth and exploration of her past traumas and how she can move on from them. There were wonderful moments of reconnection with Sydney’s sister and grandmother and those really rounded out the book beautifully.
I am just entirely smitten with this book and will be recommending it to everyone for the holiday season.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Holiday Romance
- Language: some strong
- Romance: 2-3 open door
- Violence: moderate-high
- Trigger/Content Warnings: gun violence, parental abandonment
