I remember having a crush that intense once, I feel Elio. I get it.

maybe I didn’t get it? But I disliked this one a lot. Like it gave me nothing? No emotions but a light note of anger.
Fair point is that you can interpret a lot of stuff onto our protagonist but that doesn’t do it for me. I enjoyed the descriptions of the convenience store but I did not understand the actions of any of the characters, the prose was also not that complex which can be seen as a stylistic device but that does not make it any better.
Sadly I conclude with 1.5 stars.

somehow this feels like a bad try of copying Sally rooney’s style: weird main character, messy relationships and uncoordinated thoughts. I didn’t hate this novel but I also didn’t really like it. It entertained me at times but it bored me at most. I did enjoy the teaching sequences and the texts to Edith though. Nothing life changing, but if you found it for free I would say you could read it.

if you are a boomer or never thought critically about your phone consumption this book is just right but if you have at least some boundaries or basic knowledge about your phone-usage this book only offers a few new viewpoints and resources. I enjoyed the step by step plan and it inspired me to do some more work but honestly I have used most of the ideas for years already so most steps were just not groundbreaking to me. Also the author is definitely a very privileged person and therefore the novel doesn’t really go into societal structures at all. But I feel like she wanted the plan to be as general as possible so it makes sense.
This book might be a great gift to parents though!!

If someone asked me: What is literature? - I would give them this book.
So many devices and intelligent story telling, it was unlike every book I have known?
(I guessed one twist pretty early on but it didn’t change much) - would read again!!

i enjoyed the setting, Leigh Bardugo’s writing style, the magic system and the characters!! Some shock value did not need to be that descriptive or be part of the plot at all, that’s why I didn’t give 5 stars.
