I have read Fourth Wing twice previously. This was my first time with the graphic audio. I can't decide if I love or hate graphic audios. I really liked how they add music and sound effects to round out the reading experience. However there are part that I really did not need sound effects for...specifically the romancy parts. While I love reading romancy parts and I don't mind listening to people read romancy parts...I don't know if I need sound effects in my ears. Otherwise this was a fun new way to experience the fourth wing story in a new way.

I listened to this on audiobook. This was such an excellent memoir. The author did a great job of telling her story through journal entries and reflections on her experiences. I also appreciate how she focused on her experiences and left out the names and experiences of her younger siblings, allowing them autonomy to tell their own stories (or not) in the future.

This book reminded me of how The Magicians by Lev Grossman gave us a grown up version of Harry Potter, but this book was like a grown up version of the Percy Jackson series. I listened to this book on audio and I really liked how well developed the world is in the story. I felt like I was on a true journey with our main character Alexis. I really did not see the end coming and I did not really guess who Alexis was in the grand scheme of Greek mythology. And that ending! What a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next in the journey of Alexis.

I will be rereading this multiple times in the future. I thought the author's voice is very approachable. I like that the book gives actionable steps in very bite sized pieces. The history presented in the text is very accessible.
As a Taylor Swift fan, this was a fun little read. I don't think I learned anything or found any of the book to be groundbreaking. However, it was refreshing to read such a glowing review of Taylor's existence. If nothing else this is a fun little book to add to my Taylor collection.

I had such a good time listening to this audiobook! This is like the Jewish/Hanukkah equivalent of the Hot Frosty movie from Netflix. I really enjoyed how the author used the magical realism aspect of Eve creating a Golem to explore the more serious themes of grief, family relationships and approaching middle age. This book was also very aware of current events such as Covid and their impact on our everyday life.
I also found Eve very easy to root for as a main character. She was very likable even though she was severely flawed.
