I rarely read historical fiction, but this book just really worked for me. I really loved the dual timelines between the daughter learning about her mother's history along with the stories of the girls who were running this war time book club. This definitely peaked my interested into learning more about books and war time efforts. I will be looking up Book in Action, which is the book the author referenced in the afterward.
I listened to this on audiobook. I found the story to be such an easy listening story without being purely fluff. I was able to escape to this audiobook while doing repetitive tasks at work, while still absorbing a quality story that was thought provoking.
I look forward to trying other books by this author.
Thank you to MBC Books for providing me with a copy for my review.

This series feels like early days of Grey's Anatomy. Abby Jimenez does such a great job at including very serious topics in her books along side funny, quippy moments. I really love her writing style. The audiobooks are also done so well.
This book was so cute. I loved reading Talia Hibbert's writing style in a YA story. I think she still had great representation for mental health experiences. They were nicely accompanied by the funny experiences of the characters.

oooo this book was so good! The world needs more dystopic scifi romances. The romance just hits so hard when the world is ending and people can come together in the end!
In the beginning I'll admit that I didn't care for Emily, but I really loved Tuck. I appreciate how we had so much of Tuck's point of view. But by the end I liked Emily a lot more and I think she really grew throughout the story.
The audiobook was super well done. I thought the narrators portrayed the characters very well.

This was soooo good! I thought the world building was excellent in this book. I sort of saw the plot coming, but I think Devney Perry did a good job crafting the story in a way where I was still very interested in the book. I also thought the fighting/action sequences were very Dungeons and Dragons feeling, which was just so fun to listen to. I can't believe I finished this book and now I have to wait forever for the next book.
This might be my favorite of the series. I thought the twists were well done. I enjoyed this read overall.
