This was not my favorite Darcy Coates book. But I still greatly enjoyed the story. I kind of predicted the plot, which in a Darcy Coates book is not the most terrible thing as I’m mostly reading her books for the creepy vibes anyway, but I didn’t really see where the ending was going.

This book is very cool for a spooky season read. The illustrations are very gorgeous. I wasn’t as invested in the story and I found it hard to care about Dr.Black’s life.

This book was so adorable. If you’re looking for a spicy Hallmark style movie, but make it Halloween in a town like Stars Hollow…this is your book. Oh and the relathionship between the two main characters totally gives me Marnie and Karl vibes if Kal wasn’t actually evil. My main complaint for this book is that I wanted more depth of story from the Demon world, but because this is a novella series I think the amount of world building and story met the expectations of a novella.

I look forward to reading book 2 next Halloween!

Shea Ernshaaw’s books are so slow, but if you can preserve to the end the twists are so good and so worth it. I also really love the atmosphere in Shea Ernshaw’s writing. There were these really cool sections of this book that told the history of the Walker witch family. These passages just made the lore and the world so much bigger and more lush.

This book has the perfect mixture of adventure and smut. This is truly steamy and the romance between the two main characters Icarus and Adam is just so golden. This reminded me of an episode of Lucifer because you have this bounty hunter type of guy, it’s very mysterious with a dark and gritty atmosphere.

It took me quite a bit to get into this story. The atmosphere was perfect. The mystery was also very well constructed. I had no idea where that twist was going. The ending might have wrapped up a bit quickly and too perfectly. However reading this book was just a fantastic time!

I would call this book Goosebumps for adults. Each story really calls on a different creepy aspect about life. I really loved the Mirror Man story the best. This collection would be perfect to read a few stories every day through out spooky season.

If Emily Wilde’s encyclopedia of faeries,, Divine Rivals, and A Court of Silver Flames got together they would make this book. This book ended up being so much more than I initially thought. I loved the relationship between the two main characters. I liked the mystery regarding the unreliable narrator.
