This is a book that I read that has helped me realize that thrillers are probably not for me.

This was my second and last attempt at a Bentley Little. I don’t think his work is for me.

While the premise of this one sounded promising…the audiobook was about an hour too long. Just when I thought we had reached a nice ending…it was just a dream and the story continued. I just lost interest and really didn’t care if anyone escaped, honestly.

Holy shit balls!

I just finished reading an ARC of this book that was kindly sent to me by Madison. I was so freakin nervous to read this book because I’ve been watching Madison’s YouTube content for years now and seeing someone I’m already a fan of doing something new is nerve racking! However, this book did not disappoint in the slightest. From the dedication to herself for doing the damn thing to the acknowledgments I just knew that this book was a well crafted piece of art.

But let’s get to the part all you romance readers want to know…this book was steamy as hell. As a reader girly who loves the gamer boy stereotype…oh boy this series got me feeling all the type of ways. But what really impressed me, as someone who has been marathoning romance novellas lately, is how well developed the story was as well. For every steamy moment I feel like I was given a plot point or character description that made this story and these characters feel real. If I didn’t know any better I would have looked up The System on Twitch. And there was an underlying plot/plot twist that came together in the end very nicely.

Overall my favorite aspect of this book was all the times when Stevie was just a regular dork. She is so clumsy and so off handed hilarious. Again, this made her feel like such a real person. 

5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait to continue with the series. There are so many great background characters and places where the storytelling can continue.

While this was a fun time..I’m glad it wasn’t a long time. Positives: I think the author did a good job creating the carnival atmosphere. Negatives: I didn’t like either of the characters in the couple to really care about anything that was happening. Also I found Jackson to be unreliable and unsafe as a partner for Blair, but not in a fun and sexy way.

With every book I read from Adrienne Young I fall more in love with her writing style. I wasn’t entirely sure what this book was about when I went into it, which was honestly the best way to experience this book. Every page uncovered more and more of June’s life story. This is certainly not a fast read, but it is one that will stick with me for a long time. 

Listen to this one in audiobook. I love how they incorporated the podcast with the audiobook. It was so well done. 

All you need to know about this is that it has a very nice mix between Loki, a down on your luck protagonist, talking business man cats, and killer spy dolphins. 

Also, listen to the audiobook which is narrated by Will Wheaton, which was just fantastic!

The smut was hot. That’s it. That’s the review.

I went into this story with relatively low expectations….I was looking forward to the smut, but I was prepared to be under whelmed by the plot. There was a surprisingly good balance of very steamy scenes and character development for both Rosie and Nathan. They felt like very fully crafted characters. I also found it very easy to self insert in this story.
