🦌 “I’m sick of just surviving,” I whisper. “I want…more.”

“Maybe it is. Maybe I’ve survived this long so I could know how it feels to hold her. Maybe all my life has been one long gauntlet, running, fighting, searching for her.”

The Walking Dead meets The Hunger Games, but make it sapphic and a slow burn enemies to lovers, forced proximity type vibes.

5⭐️ I’m in love. My only complaint is that the pages smell weird.

I am completely and utterly obsessed!

This is absolutely my new favorite poetry collection. I love how Nikita Gill used Fairytales to talk about real world issues and feelings. That didn't feel gimicky at all which was nice. I will be reading more from this author!

Grief horror is one of my favorite subgenres of horror. I really enjoyed how the author used butterflies and flowers as symbols for different emotions and interactions with grief and death. I thought the story was told in a very unique way.

I listened to the audiobook for this one. While the audiobook was not my favorite audiobook, I did have a really good time listening to this story. I've been on a mission to find easy listening type audiobooks for work. This one definitely fits into that category.

The story itself is not complex and the plot is pretty predictable, but the way that we get there is pretty intriguing. This felt like more of an old school take on cowboy romances. I definitely felt myself swooning at several parts of the book.

Thank you to HTP's The Hive for providing me with a review copy of the audiobook!

Five stars, no notes. This book was fantastic. I listened to the audiobook. While I don't know if I retained specific facts from this book I will forever remember how this book made me feel. I left this audiobook angry about the misrepresentation of women in science and academics. I'm angry about how women have been treated by history. I really feel inspired to seek out more stories about the things that women have help contribute to our every day lives.

Thank you to The Hive for providing me with an arc of this book for review.

This book felt like if Elle and Warner from Legally Blonde had stayed together and become Joe and Beck in You. I found the characters very unlikeable which is why I knocked this down to a 3.5 star. I leaned toward the husband's point of view and felt like maybe he was on to something and the victim in this story. However, he was morally grey as well and the ending is left kind of ambiguous. I will have to think about the ending for a little while more to decide if I think he is guilty of just as many wrong doings as the wife.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a review copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. This gave me all the cozy vibes associated with reading on a rainy day. If you are ever feeling a little bit down and out about life, this is the perfect book for a pick me up. The journey that we go on with Serin to discover ways to enjoy her mundane life in new ways is very enjoyable.

What do you mean that's how the book ended and now I have to wait for book 2? The atmosphere in this book was so spectacular. The side characters (hello Gargoyle) just really made the readying experience for this one so fun. The romance between two of the main characters was the slowest of the slowest burns and I really hope it will all be worth it in book 2.
