Unfortunately I don't think this is the f1 romance author for me. Or maybe I just don't enjoy f1 romances.
I binged the first two books in this series on audio. I truly just didn't feel connected to the main characters in these books. I thought the males were kind of flat and just not interesting. Maybe they compared too much to drivers who don't peak my interest. Equally I thought the females just fell flat. For me in a romance if the characters don't appeal the story just does not quite appeal to me unfortunately because romance books are so character driven.

I think this truly isn't the author for me. OR F1 romances just aren't for me. I'm going to try other f1 romances just to see, but I really didn't like the power dynamic between a female team owner vs. a driver. I had trouble picturing the mmc as he was described because on the cover he was wearing Aston Martin colors and he just screamed Fernando Alonso for me. I couldn't get that image out of my head. So I struggled with listening to this book.
This might be the f1 romance for someone, but unfortunately it was not quite right for me.

If you were a Mediator series or Sookie Stackhouse series fan I would highly recommend this book. I had a really good time solving all the mysteries along with Alyssa in this story.
If you are hunting for fiction books with older main characters this was an excellent representation of both female and male main characters who are established in life, but also still finding themselves.
Hopefully we get to explore more of the friend group and solve the mysteries of more ghostly friends!

I listened to this one on audiobook. About 20% in I started to loose a little bit of interest in this story and I was just going to admit that this is a YA book that is not meant for me, DNF it and move on. However about that time the guy main love interest started tutoring the female main character to be a kicker on the school's football team. It was at that point that I ate this book up! 10/10 I had a good time with these characters and I really loved learning the grandma's story through the podcast.

Unfortunately I did take a star away from my rating because I listened to the audiobook for this one. While the story was compelling and fun in the same way that other cowboy romances that I've read are....the audiobook was just okay. This was a situation where the audiobook read the book to me rather than telling me the story.
Otherwise I did have a good time with this story. I thought the main characters were very compelling. The smut was so well done and spicy. The characters were also a little bit older, which was fun to read about.

I listened to this one on audio. Thank you to Net galley and Harlequin for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
OMG. This was a spicy good time with the back drop of fall vibes and a cutesy small town.
Said in a Jennifer Coolidge voice "it made me want a piece of pumpkin pie real bad!"
My all time favorite scene from this book was when the FMC and MMC were falling asleep in bed together after a fun tryst and they decided to watch Murder She Wrote together as their "falling asleep" tv show. That just felt so relatable and true to life.
This is a 4.5 star read in that I had a good time with it, not that it was some transformative piece of literature.

Okay, after years of being a hater (ie I didn't like The Love Hypothesis) I think I am now an Ali Hazelwood lover. These are just the right main characters at the right time. I love how Ali writes these male characters who actually add value to the FMC's life, but at the same time the FMC are so strong on their own that while the relationship enhances their lives it doesn't define the FMC's life or success.

I had such a wonderful time listening to this book. The Monk and Robot duet by Becky Chambers is my all time favorite series and this book was very reminiscent of that. This story was just told in a much cozier way. I really loved how this reflected on life and the journey we all take to becoming ourselves.

This is a prime example of a book that allows the readers to explore crazy situations in a safe way.
There was also a Gilmore Girls reference so my inner millennial was so happy reading that reference.

I don't think this was the book for me, but I do think it was a very well done book. I like how the book reflected on different life experiences through connections with food. The chapter about Spaghetti and the grandpa with dementia was truly heart warming. I just really felt it was hard to connect with the characters and this was almost too cozy for me to enjoy unfortunately.
