The Hate U Give is the best book I've read this year - I know it's only March. Angie Thomas paints a realistic picture of rhe complicated life of the main character, Starr. The story is mecessarily complex. The characters are deep. The themes are timely. The Hate U Give should be required reading for high school students everywhere.

Great thriller for yoyng adults. I think the story felt a little abbreviated but I just found out it's part of a series. Maybe there's more detail and intrigue in the others. My students will have the option of reading this book for Literature Circles this year.

The beginning was somewhat slow but it was interesting once the action began to pick up. There was some clues to the mystery that were obvious to the narrator but foggy to the reader. This is her debut novel so I would definitely read another book by the author. #BookOfTheMonth #March2017 #BOTM

Fahrenheit 451 may have been written in the 1940s but it is "write" on time.

Politics aside, what an incredible concept. I checked this book out from the library out of curiosity and refusal to support the author financially. After reading it, I think everyone should. The paintings are great but the stories are incredible.

I don't know why it took me so long to get through this book but it was worth it. Omar El Akkad put an extraordinary amount of detail into this story. This is a book with a number of moving parts and they all come together in the end. I enjoyed this read.

This book was selected by the Book of the Month algorithm and I decided to trust the process. This is not a book I normally would have selected but I'm glad I did. This book has a lot of moving parts that come together nicely in tbe end. Excellent writing and wonderful storytelling. I enjoyed reading about the complicated, underestimated, and sometimes ruthlwss Evelyn Hugo. #BookOfTheMonth #BOTM #June2k17
