He Loves Me Not" by Carmen Rosales is a story about Rubi and Ky, two kids who meet at the age of 11 from opposite sides of the tracks. Rubi is living a life with an addict mother, while Ky comes from a wealthy single-parent family. They are separated when Rubi is tossed into foster care, only to be reunited seven years later. Rubi is forced to live with her father after getting into her fair share of trouble. Little does she know, her father is doing well for himself, and soon she will be attending the same school as the boy she lost long ago.
This is book 1 in a duo, and I can confidently say that this author pulled on all my heartstrings. The character development in this book is what has me hooked right now. Rubi's character is complex due to her upbringing, but Ky is on a whole different level. He is not a walking red flag; he is a bright red billboard on the highway. The author does a great job of storytelling, filling us in on everything we need to know and when we need to know it. The author's writing style is smooth, making it a fast read, and I am more than ready for part 2.

Warning: This story does end on a cliffhanger. The main character in this tale is Mae; her sister Inez went missing five years ago, and just about everyone has given up the search. Mae is desperate to find her, perhaps to help ease the tension with her parents, and starts retracing her steps to get answers. Amidst all this mystery stands a single white painting. The author does an excellent job of pulling you into the story, and just when you think you have it all figured out, she drops a twist. The narrative starts slowly but is a compelling ride and I can not wait to see how the story ends.

"He Loves Me" by Carmen Rosales is the story of Ky and Rubi. This is book 2 in the series, so if you have not read Book 1, "He Loves Me Not," then this review may lose you. A small recap: Rubi and Ky, two kids who meet at the age of 11 from opposite sides of the tracks, are reunited years later, only to realize that they may have fallen out of love with each other. Still, this author has me invested in these characters. It is so well-written, and my only reason for giving this book 4 instead of 5 stars is that the ending felt a little rushed. I really wished for more details after a couple of scenes at the end. Carmen's writing style is awesome, and she creates captivating characters; also, their backstories magically overlap in some way. Rumor has it there may be more to come.

Legacy of Temptation by Larissa Ione (DEMONICA BIRTHRITE SERIES). Now, I have to give a warning: this book is about God, Angels, Demons, Vampires, Werewolves, and everything in between, loved it. In the beginning of the book, there is a glossary of terminology that includes terms relevant to the world the author has built, along with some terms you may already be familiar with. That being said, when you first start reading, you may feel like you are in book 2 or 3 of a series, but I can tell you this: it does not last long. This is the first book of this series, but the author does have multiple series, and from what I can tell, some of the players are in this book. Yes, you can read this as a standalone or choose to start it in the Demonica Series. The author's world-building is mind-blowing. Even though I have not read anything from her before, I was able to immediately pick up the story flow. If you're looking for a good series, I would definitely recommend this author.

I did read the trigger warnings, as I am supposed to, yes and thought to myself, 'Meh, how bad can it be?' Well, the answer is bad. This is the story of Mick, an obsessive serial killer who one day meets Paige and becomes instantly obsessed. Without giving away spoilers, I can tell you this: it is a wild story, and just when you think things couldn't get crazier, they do. The spice was immaculate, I must say, and the female main character does state on multiple occasions, 'I think I am broken", which I could relate to cause this is definitely a dark dark romance.
I am not sure why it took me so long to read this after I read the LORDS Series, but I finally did. Shantel does not miss. I have Carnage to read next and can not wait. Colt and Raylee's relationship is so toxic, and I ate it up. I do wish their story was longer. This is a must-read.
Stranger Session by Lauren Biel is a novella that doesn't mess around. Brace yourself for a wild ride as Del and Mariah collide on a blind date. This novella goes from 0 to 100 real quick, and it's a rollercoaster you won't want to get off.
Starting from Del's perspective, you get a taste of his story before the FMC Mariah, comes onto the scene. Lauren Biel doesn't shy away from morally gray characters, and Del is a prime example. The novella delivers a bang, and the ending, while sweet, is draped in shades of gray because that is how the story started.
For those who crave stories with an edge, where characters tread the fine line between right and wrong, Stranger Session is your ticket to a dark and thrilling journey into the unknown.
