Absolute explicit smutty goodness with not a whole amount of depth to it, but enough to make it still feel like there’s a plot with good sex scenes not just all sex scenes with no plot.
I ADORE Lily and Randy and it was so good just reading more about their relationship and seeing more things in their lives. If I could ask for a whole Randy and lily series I would (so you know Helena if you read these, more randy and lily PLEASE)
I really like the dual POV as I love getting the guys perspective on things as well and Randy is this really special, vulnerable sweet guy deep down so that was great to see.
Definitely rated 18 tho 🔥🔥🔥

I ADORE LILY AND RANDY.
That’s really it. That’s all.
Nah for real though: I wanted to read the rest of the books in this companion novel series to get glimpses of Violet and Alex from Book 1 because I thought I just loved them so much......BUT THEN LILY AND RANDY CAME AND BLEW THEN OUT THE RUNNING.
Firstly Lily is a badass, she is so strong and independent and tenacious and is just a breath of fresh air. She’s also slightly quirky which I’m coming to realise is a Helena Hunting trait and I love the characters for it.
Randy is a big muscular softie who when you get past the exterior is actually really vulnerable and had ALL THESE FEELINGS. He’s also got a good head on his shoulders and is kind and sweet and quite smart.
Seeing their relationship develop from FWB to realising they’re in love with each other: BEAUTIFUL, ICONIC, *chefs kiss*
Honestly if I could have 10 more books of just Randy and Lily I would 😭😭🥺🥺🥰🥰
Definitely rated 18 🔥🔥🔥

When I say this CONSUMED me, I am not joking. Even from chapter 1, the sexual tension between Elena and Nico is so thick I'm not even sure you could cut it with a chainsaw. The chemistry is SO ELECTRIC, you find yourself not able to put the book down until you reach the last page. I basically read this in 7hours with literally no breaks because it just OVERTOOK ME. And honestly most of the time you're sat there running a hot temperature: BEFORE they even have sex because the tension is just so electric and sizzling. Really excellent writing if you ask me for that alone.
There's just something about the mafia element, that whilst I fully admit it would not be in the slightest a healthy lifestyle in real life, in the fiction world it's just SO GOOD. I actually found parts of this book quite interesting and having a fresh look at some of the life compared to some other mafia books I have read.
The only reason this wasn't a 5 star for me was because I wanted just a little bit more communication between Elena and Nico regarding one quite important topic, and because Elena refused to bring it up until right at the end, a lot of her inner monologue regarding the topic got a bit repetitive.
I also would have adored if there had been an epilogue with maybe a time-jump.
I highlighted 273 parts of this book lmao
Based on this book alone, I definitely want to read more by this author.

I was heavily anticipating this sequel to A Beauty so Cruel and whilst it didn't come out as a 4 or 5 star I did still really enjoy it, I just found there were a few things that personally didn't fit for me. This is a dark romance book so please check the extensive list of TWs at the bottom of this review as this book covers some content which people may find triggering.
Okay so I got my HEA and I am HAPPY about that x100000. I just wasn't 100% on board with how we got to it. I did personally feel as if the tone of the book didn't match up to that of the first book, almost felt like I was reading from a different author but it wasn't all over bad because this book also had a very different message/pot to the first one. This one focused heavily on redemption and forgiveness, and in the mafia world that's hard and a tough feat to achieve so I also kind of understand why the tone was different. Also we know a very obvious thing about Dahlia which in the first book we did not so that also explains the different tone/writing style.
I really loved Dahlia and her strong character in the first book and whilst that was definitely still present in this book, I did feel sometimes like it was forgotten. There were a few decisions she made I didn't personally fell went with what we knew of her character.
BUT VLAD. That man. Totally not an appropriate human being in real life but omg he melts my heart in this. I adored that there was one scene where the author purposefully made him not communicate his feelings with Dahlia but then we were SHOWN exactly how he felt by his actions in the next chapter.
A few of the character interactions allowed me to really sit back and think, and even discuss them with my friend and I love when a book makes you think about things so that was great.
My biggest downside at the time of reading was that I felt Dahlia kept being made to suffer "one more thing" and it didn't feel necessary to me, and actually made me little uncomfortable. However I do acknowledge that in hindsight, it felt like it fit the story and is the main reason this book is a higher rated 3 star but just not quite 4 star.
Overall, a good duology, if you are okay with the triggers, and definitely a memorable, dark retelling of beauty and the beast.
TWs:
Rape (graphic)
Physical Assault
Kidnapping
Pedophilia
Sexual Assault against a child
Murder

Honestly the only reason this wasn't a 5 star for me was because I wanted more of either Randy & Lily or Lance & Poppy. Because I have FALLEN for them. And it's funny because I originally became obsessed with this series because of how much I loved Alex & Violet form the first book but Randy and Lance just stole my heart in their respective books. I did love the little bits of Randy & Lily we got in this book though. The Get Inked crossover was FAB and that's definitely the next series I am going to read.
Basically I am obsessed with this world and there's noting that Helena Hunting could write in the pucked world that I wouldn't love.
This really was an absolute treat to get all these extra chapters from all the characters.
Steam rating: UK 18 movie rating
TWs:
sexual content (like a lot)
mention of the topics that are brought up in the individual books: physically/mentally abusive relationships

Thank you to rachelsrandomresources for the copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Okay so firstly I’ll admit this is actually a 2nd book in a series and I didn’t know that (whoops) but you definitely could read this without reading the 1st as the story covers who everyone is and all their relations.
I’d definitely put this book in the middle grade/young teen age category so whilst it wasn’t quite for me it was still enjoyable.
I will admit at first, the constant insecure inner monologue was bothering me, but then I thought back to what I was like at 16 years old when I liked a bit and actually realised it was probably very accurate.
This is a very sweet romance, definitely uk 12 movie rating, which also covers some great learning experiences for 16 year olds including how to navigate friendships and relationships.
It also covers the topic of family members suffering with dementia in what I think is a really good way (however I haven’t had personal experience in this area so cannot day for sure)
A really sweet contemporary romance, that was easy and fast paced, and would make a perfect summer evening read
TWs⚠️:
Family member suffering from dementia/nursing homes scenes

I picked this up wanting a quick and light suspense romance and it was definitely the perfect pick. One thing I actually really like about mills & boon type books is they get straight into the drama and this one was no different. By chapter two you knew what danger the main character was in and we're introduced to the love interest which I really like. That doesn't mean this was an instant love, there was definitely a build up of chemistry in this one. They didn't quite go from enemies to lovers but it was certainly along those lines which made for some funny moments, good chemistry and a climatic coming together moment too. The suspense aspect of the story was really good too, because I had no idea who the bad guy was until the final clue slotted in place and I definitely found myself guessing along the way to try and work it out.
I read this in one night within a few hours so it's definitely a good book to pick up if you want a quick read.

Okay first of all I got say that cover model ain’t got nothing on Lance.
Second of all, HELENA HUNTING IS THE ABSOLUTE QUEEN OF EPILOGUES. SHE KILLS IT EVERY TIME. I love it. I am in fact a hoe for a good epilogue (or just any in general tbh)
I love Lance and Poppy. Not as much as I loved Randy and Lily but they hold a completely different spark too.
I think it is so important to show emotional and domestic abuse being done to men as well as women and so for that reason this book is really important I think.
Lance is this blessed, vulnerable boy and I adore seeing how he overcomes his past traumas and let’s himself be open and honest with Poppy.
Poppy seems like the sweetest girl and is perfect for Lance and his healing journal.
I’d say the steam levels were still there for sure but definitely more innocent in comparison to some of the other companion novels. I’d put it at a 15 uk movie rating rather than an 18, but it works really well with the story and I was not disappointed.
Also i’d just like to say again how great that epilogue was.
Love this series
