This was a quick, smutty read.
Sometimes with shorter books, there's something that is done a disservice - the plot, or character development, but for this book this was not the case. Everything was explored perfectly in the time frame of the book. Whilst it was a bit instant one, that worked for the story type.
The characters felt thought out and still managed to have distinct voices despite the short novella length.
Plus, a cop smutty romance is always a bit of fun.
I would be interested in reading more about their story and definitely more from this author.

Whilst this was the least favourite of the Dirty Sexy series so far, I did still enjoy it!
The great thing about these books is they take off right when the one before left, even if they focus on a new couple. This allows the book to get straight into it.
Instant love is hit or miss for me, and the first two books in the series worked for me with the level of instant love, but this one didn’t as much and was ultimately why it was lower in rating for me.
The book is short and is a very fast read. Because it is short though some of the issues are dealt with or a more superficial level and I would have liked to see some more depth. It made certain situations slightly anti-climatic.
I loved getting to see glimpses of the first two couples in the background and I loved getting to know more about Levi in this book.
I really like that all the woman in this series before have been really strong, independent, wilful woman.
Excited to read the last book and see how everyone’s story’s conclude.

I actually love this book & Mason Kincaid is by far my favourite Kincaid brother.
This book takes place straight after dirty sexy saint and I love that you get to still see the continuation of Clay & Samantha’s story even whilst the focus is shifted onto Mason & Katrina.
I’m not usually a friends to lovers fan at all but I adored this one. Who else could these two vulnerable, emotionally damaged and scarred humans learn to love and heal with apart from each other.
This book is definitely steamy but also so sweet. There are some beautiful lines of dialogue and they genuinely made my teeth chatter and my heart leap.
Also, who knew I found possessiveness hot until Mason Kincaid came along and declared he was staking his claim on Kitty Kat’s heart ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
This was made even sweeter by being able to imagine the characters as they were portrayed in the passionflix adaption of Dirty sexy saint. Whilst not how the book describes Katrina, I love the movie adaption version of her so much more 😍😍

So I think I have already read this book before, but I have also watched the movie of this book by Passionflix. So even if the story hadn’t been read by me before, I knew the story because give Passionflix their due they stuck so accurately to this book. Therefore I managed to read through it quickly and nothing really surprised me.
However what I loved about reading this book that I didn’t get from watching the movie was the inner feelings and in our monologues of clay and Samantha. There was definitely moments of this book that made my heart leap and the butterflies in my stomach pull, and I imagine if you didn’t know the story it would be even better.
It’s quite a short story and it is quite easily read, but it definitely packs a punch. I think the only thing for me that didn’t quite work personally was that because it was a shorter story the plot twist and action did feel a little bit rushed towards the end. I think I would’ve liked to see a little bit more from these characters.
However what I am now looking forward to doing is reading all of the other books because I definitely think that Mason is going to be my favourite brother.

Thanks so much to the author, publisher and Rachel’s
Random Resources for the ARC of this book.
I was actually so pleasantly surprised by this book and I ended up reading it in one day and really enjoyed it.
It also probably helped that I was sat in the sun all day reading about a romance in Hawaii. It’s the perfect summertime read!
Pros:
1) super sweet romance
2) I liked the book got straight into the story
3) felt even though there was definitely times it lacked, there was a lot of great communication examples in this book
4) super quick read, and not super long
5) a little steamy whilst still being modest about it and it fit the story well
6) shows it’s okay when life isn’t perfect and that was nice to read about
7) all the food sounded AMAZING (do not read without snacks or on an empty stomach 😂)
Cons:
1) I really did not like Gabi’s character (the MC’s sister) and felt she had not done enough to redeem herself by the end
2) there were a few contradictory lines but mostly minor

I read this because I saw the passionflix movie of it and thought it seemed really good so wanted to read the short story that was based on.
In one of the first times I have to say the movie was better. I loved the changes made to Ava for the movie role. Plus they made the movie way steamier.
However there were a few bits of dialogue in the book not in the movie which I wish had been included cause they were good.
Super quick and short, kind of funny wee story that I feel could be a brilliant start to a full length novel.
Worth the read but super quick and light

I highlighted something like 250 parts of this books….I LOVED IT. It destroyed me in such a beautiful way.
Firstly I adore Keri Lake and her writing style. I am not someone who easily pictures in their mind exactly what is going on in books and the rooms/places etc that are described. But with both of her books that I have read, I have almost had the movie playing along in my head, and to me that is the sign of a good author.
I fell so absolutely in love with Ripley and all his demons and like not to be dramatic but I would die for him.
Dylan is this amazing, strong. Self-succulent warrior woman who has overcome so many dark things in her life. And the fact she still has positivity and the strength to go on, just amazing.
There’s also the mystery aspect to this book that keeps you just as hooked as the dark romance and when I say you don’t get the full picture until the LAST 2% I really mean that.
By the end I was hyperventilating, crying, screeching with all the emotions.
So so good!

But in my opinion not actually that dark (however don’t be fooled there are a lot of trigger warnings)
2) entertaining as hell. Splurged through it in 3 days
3) Roxy is a boss ass bitch who I think has a pretty good character arc knowing her own self, learning to love herself and these boys, and just in general being strong as hell
Reads like a fanfiction, but quite a good well edited fanfiction. (This does make it super easy to read though)
Cons:
Not an awful lot of plot to the book however there is enough to keep you interested although it is very predictable.
Some of the kinks are definitely not explored in an accurate or even safe way.
I honestly don’t think any of the boys *EXCEPT GARRETT* had any kind of character arc except from the fact that they fell in love with the girl
Protection not mentioned ONCE. This girl would be so pregnant by the end

Honestly going into this book, I didn’t think I was gonna love it as much as I did. Which is becoming a thing with Helena hunting. Every time I read a new one of her books I think it can’t possibly get any better and it does.
Originally for the first couple of chapters I wasn’t feeling this book because I felt it had a completely different vibe to the rest of the series and it was definitely written differently. Instead of learning about the couple as they get together this couple has already been together for two years but that’s what makes it great because although they had been together they hadn’t really taken those steps to being in a relationship and so this book explored that.
I love that every single one of Helenas characters have some kind of backstory and some kind of healing that they need to do. Usually the male in the relationship has more healing to do and I really respect that powerplay because it’s really nice reading about a vulnerable guy instead of a damsel in distress all the time.
And Darren was no different I felt myself absolutely rejoicing when there is little bambino was learning how to actually put himself out there, be in a proper relationship, and share his feelings.
I also liked the mystery that came with Charlene and constantly wondering what her backstory was, and that made the slightly climatic drama towards the end even more intriguing.
I think one of the reasons I also absolutely adore this book was because I love seeing how the other characters are when the main focus is an on them because Helena has a way of really showing you what her characters are like when they’re the side characters. I fully have read this entire series purely to get glimpses of all the different characters as much as possible. I love every single one of them.
Also: HELENA IS AN ABSOLUTE QUEEN AT EPILOGUES AND THIS ONE WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!!
I could honestly go for an entire new series just with all the same characters and seeing how their lives play out because I love them all so much.
This series will definitely hold a special place in my heart forever

This was a re-read for me, but I hadn’t read this book since I was about 14 or 15 which was nearly 10 years ago. And my opinion on the book definitely has changed because I do remember liking it a lot more back then in my naivete than I did now.
My biggest issue with this book, and really the main issue I have, is that it’s definitely too long. There is a lot of repetition and a lot of inner monologue that just is not necessary. There’s also a time period within the story where every single day is described and I just didn’t feel like this was necessary.
The action and suspense that comes at the end does make up for this quite a lot however not enough that I can ignore that I was bored and skim read a good 150 pages of this book.
There are a few things in this book that I find slightly unrealistic especially considering the very hard-hitting topics that are discussed, and I definitely feel this is a book that target audience is late teens but again the length goes against this.
There is some good quotes in here and a lot of scenes that I did enjoy however unfortunately the middle did just drag and there was a few days where I just didn’t feel the motivation to read this book, and if I hadn’t of read it already and knew that the ending got a lot better I probably wouldn’t have finished this book.
