A very misleading title/premise for this book. It has nothing to do with loneliness or solitary person, it’s more like a biography, very personal, about the author and her own experience with solitude/and not. Closer to a biography, no reflexion or explanation here. If you love this author/person you may enjoy it, but if you are looking for something to help yourself, this isn’t the right book!

Better then the previously reviews (365 Ways to Find Peace) this one doesn't focus on quotes, but truly on «helpful» idea or techniques to keep your mind in a relax state of mind. They’re not that great or original but some are and again, this book can be left here or there (coffee table, bedside, work, personal bag, or any other place) where you can pick it up and read some when you need it, read one every morning or whatever. They are organized by good categories of even that can cause stress so if some situation causes you more stress than other, it's easy to use and go directly where it will help you. Not much for me here, but smart, easy and simple idea that I’m sure can help some people!

More or less a big collection of though and quotes about peace of mind and peaceful/calm attitude. Some people may find it useful to let it on their coffee table or bedside and read one each day to help them start in a good mood. Personally not really my style, but I understand it can help some people and it's as well done as it can for this type of book.

Well... you will learn about the potato. Not a bad books, you will seriously learn stuff, but let's be honest this is for a very specific public. You have to be obsessed with the potato to read that (or you just read way too many book on anything (that's me)). If you love this vegetables and want to know more!!

Various activities/games with words, numbers, visual patterns etc. Will it boost your brain power? I doubt it. But those are things that you can use to keep your mind active, have fun and learn/develop your brain at the same them. Don’t expect extraordinary result, but this won’t hurt of course and can particularly be helpful for children. It’s like all those brain training apps that we see, except on paper, it’s better than nothing, just don’t hope for miracle here.

I would have hope for a good story with gratitude and contemplation of nature, but even if it has a little of that, it is way more orientate on God and religious observation/admiration. The illustration are alright, nothing more or less. Not a bad book but too religious for my taste.

2,5/5. J’ai tellement de chose à dire sur ce livre... je vais essayer de ne pas m’égarer. Premièrement, Maxime Chattam a longtemps été parmi mes auteurs préférés. Par contre, dans ces plus récents romans, il me perd de plus en plus. Premièrement, ses inspirations sont trop claires, trop évidentes, dans ce livre, n’importe qui qui a lu un peu reconnaitra facilement n’ont pas seulement des allusions ou des clins d’œil (celui a Lovecraft est délicat et bien fait), mais carrément des scènes, des intrigues ou des bouts de livres qui en rappel clairement d’autres. On ne peut s’empêcher de penser à la série Stranger Things, aux romans Cellulaire et Ça de Stephen King. Ces «inspirations» frôle le plagiat par moment et démontre un manque d’originalité et de créativité qui fait très très mal!! Tout comme le fait de copier sa famille pour en faire les personnages principaux du livre, mais bon…
De plus, ce roman fait partie de livres check-list (je viens d’inventer ce terme), c’est-à-dire des livres dans lesquels on a l’impression que l’auteur jette des éléments à droite et à gauche dans son histoires pour les enlever de sa check-list alors que ceux-ci n’apportent rien et sont même hors contexte. Avait-on besoin de parler d’agressions sexuelles et du mouvement #metoo dans un livre d’horreur? Non! Maxime Chattam a une tribune médiatique largement assez grande pour dénoncer les agressions sexuels lors d’entrevues, ce n’était pas utile ni nécessaire d’inclure cela dans ce genre de roman! Devait-on insinuer vers la fin qu’un personnage est homosexuel, parce qu’on n’avait pas encore «plugger» l’homosexualité? Je ne crois pas! Vous voyez mon point je pense.
Troisièmement, certaines intrigues ou dénouement d’intrigues que je ne révélerai pas pour ne pas vendre la mèche («spoiler») sont trop farfelues ou simplement trop ridicule pour être crédible, tout comme la fin d’ailleurs. J’écoutais un entrevu de Brandon Sanderson récemment dans laquelle il mentionnait qu’un univers fantastique peut être crédible, aussi fou et dément soit-il, tant et aussi longtemps qu’il respecte ses règles et ses propres lois établis. Maxime Chattam ne fait pas cela, les règles semblent évoluer avec le jeu ou tout simplement inventer en cours de lecture/écriture, ce qui m’a fait décrocher.
Sinon, car tout n’est pas mauvais quand même, le rythme est bon malgré quelques longueurs, les personnages sont corrects et la mise en place d’une ville fictive (cela implique beaucoup de choses et demeure une épreuve complexe pour un auteur) est très bien fait et sans doute le meilleur point de ce livre.
Un roman ambitieux certes, dans lequel l’auteur s’égard par moment à mon avis et qui manque d’originalité. Je crois que Maxime Chattam est un grand auteur de thriller et de roman policier, mais lorsqu’il touche au fantastique les choses se gâtent terriblement. Loin d’être le meilleur livre de cet auteur et malheureusement une grande déception pour moi, car j’avais énormément d’attente!!!

Un classique que j'étais très hésitant à lire et qui finalement m'a terriblement plu! Anne est tout simplement charmante et tellement attachante qu'elle tient le livre à elle seule. Amitié, famille, amour, école, etc. divers thèmes couvrant la vie d'une jeune fille de cette époque. Bien écrit, drôle et efficace, on est jamais tout à fait certain si Anne est gaffeuse ou espiègle, mais un réel plaisir de lecture!

2,5/5. This book is really weird. Not a lot of text, almost nothing and a story between imagination and hallucination. Not much for me. But I got to say the illustration were magnificent!! Original and unique for sure, but to light on the story for my taste!

Marvelous illustration with a poetic writing style. Not much in term of storyline but a charming nonetheless.
