When I saw this book I thought it was another book promising all and delivering nothing. But, trying to be optimistic, I try it anyway wanting to see if I was right or wrong. I have to admit I was quite wrong. This book doesn’t deliver miracle, no book can do that in the psychological field, but it deliver a good introduction to the anxiety trouble in general (case study/example, information about what the trouble is, how to recognize the symptoms, different methods to find help, and more). Like I said no miracle, but good and pertinent information. I didn’t learn much, searching and studying this subject for over a decade now, but I think it’s a easy enough to understand book for the new comers and it cover the basic of it, so a good introduction to the subject and a good way to know more for regular people (not professional psychologist or student). Better than expected!
A visual representation of what living with autisms is for women. Not bad, between information and biographies, they are very personal facts here and more scientific as well. The think I didn't like about this book is the constant, something we saw more and more in modern days, trying to make/show the difference between women and men in everything. We never talk so much about trying to eliminate the barrier between sexes and at the same time we always underline the fact that everything is so different. They're difference that we can't deny and there are also things that are mostly the same. A book explaining autism is great, a book explaining autism of women... not necessary, a chapter exploring the difference between autism women and men would have been enough, because yes there are differences, but there are more similarities. Anyway... editorial review this morning!
A beautiful story about friendship and the power of imagination! Well done in every part of it!
As an introvert, reader and solitary person I really enjoy, for not saying worship, silence. This book is just that, an homage, an ode to the silence and it's something we need more in this way too noisy era!!
2,5/5. Strong and good action but way to poor in the story too make it worth it. Not that good unfortunately!
X-Men: Black - Juggernaut #1
Zac Thompson, Robbie Thompson, Lonnie Nadler, Shawn Crystal, J. Scott Campbell
I enjoy the more classic X-Men team, from the original uncanny series, but that was about it. Sure there is a ton of action and that's what you expect from a Juggernaut comic, but the illustrations were too cartoon like for my taste, and not enough story for my liking. Some may like it but I probably won't go further with this one!
I wanted to read this series, and loved it, for so long... that I was terribly disappointed. The story wasn't the problem even if it wasn't that great. The problem was the sketchy illustration style that didn't get to me. Too sketchy to be graphic enough, foggy from time to time, the artwork kill this series for me... Too bad!
As YA as it gets... way too much for me, I try to explore this genre and keep an open mind but, even when the story could be good... the character are too often clichés of themselves and the unrealistic teenage love... I'm probably to old for it. Anyway I didn't like it. It's a very YA reads so maybe the YA fans would have a different opinion, I try... but didn't like it!
So bad... Big disappointment for me! The illustrations and the frame of pages were a bit messy and the story just too weird. Batman is also mostly not there... for a Batman comic this is ridiculous, there are a lot of heroes, almost Justice League materials, and yes Batman is there, but maybe in 10% of the comic. A waste of money!
An original and unique little books. Stories about nasty «toads (mostly nasty kids in facts). Mixing absurd humor, adventures, magical elements those stories do their works and are entertaining. There's also some toads jokes and toads facts between some stories. The stories are also illustrated. Really some that's out of the ordinary and even if not totally my style in many aspects it was an interesting and entertaining read. Good work!
