Much Ado about Dukes by Eva Devon caught my interest with the summary. I thought Beatrice was well developed and with her focus on women's rights, she doesn't have any interest in marriage. When she finds herself attracted to the Duke of Blackheath, the man she considers her enemy, she doesn't really know what to think. Blackheath also has no desire to marry but when they start to realize they could actually help each other, they begin to form a friendship.
Because of things, they find that they need to marry and it was great to see how they balance their initial thoughts around marriage and where they ultimately end up. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more books by Devon in the future.

The Stars Between Us by Cristin Terrill is a book I was looking forward to ever since I learned it was going to be released. The premise of this one is what caught my attention and of course I've enjoyed Terrill's previous books so I was excited to be able to read this one.
The main character is Vika and her story was interesting. She's grown up on a struggling planet but has always had a benefactor making sure she received the best education and when he dies mysteriously, she finds out she was also included in his will. Because of this, she has the opportunity to live on a better neighbor planet. I have to admit there were times early on where I didn't really care for Vika. She was willing to do whatever it took to separate herself from her family and her past where she didn't have a disposable income, fancy house, and anything she really wanted.
The other character I will mention here is Sky. I loved him and thought he was a great add to this story.
I thought the story was well written and the varying characters kept things interesting. The mystery behind who did it had a bit of a twist as well and once I got to the middle of the book, I found myself more invested. I think the beginning felt rough only because I didn't really connect with Vika...she was a tough character to get behind in my opinion.

This one was just ok for me. I thought the characters were interesting and their story had promise but it seemed like their feelings developed out of nowhere since all of their interactions revolved around making Lord Boyle pay for his misdeeds. And don't get me wrong, he completely deserves everything they plan but I wanted more development of the core relationship between Clemency and Audric.
I'm interested in checking out more of this genre from Madeleine Roux as I've read other books by her and she always has an interesting storyline. This one just didn't win me over fully.

I can always count on Lorraine Heath books to get me out of a slump. The Return of the Duke is the third book of the Once Upon a Dukedom series and I loved it.
Marcus Stanwick is working to return honor to his family and expose whoever else was involved in the plot to take his father / family down. His search leads him to the one woman he knows hurt his family - his father's mistress...or so he thinks.
Esme has secrets and reasons for wanting to discover who is behind the conspiracy to kill the queen. When she comes face to face with Marcus, she is definitely attracted but she can't trust him with any of her secrets.
Despite all of that, they quickly realize that they should be working together and they quickly find themselves fighting hard to ignore the attraction they feel for one another but that isn't easy and have to decide if love is worth the risk of losing what each of them have been working to do for a long time.
I loved how the relationship built and eventually changed for these two. It was clear they had some difficult decisions to make in terms of what was most important to them and how they could / would make things work.
If you're looking for a great historical romance, I recommend this series and if you haven't read the other books yet, go read those first but make sure you wrap up with this one. I can't wait to read more from Lorraine Heath!

I love this series by Anna Harrington and I recommend it to everyone. If you haven't started it, don't pick this one up yet as I don't want you to miss out on anything. DO go back to book one (or wherever you left off) and read all the way through this book.
Harrington did a great job building out the Sydney as a character. It's obvious early on that there is something pushing her to do the things she has been doing but it's also clear, she isn't happy with it. Sydney is essentially putting her life on the line when she is blackmailed / threatened with the one thing she cares about most, her son, and she will do anything to keep him safe.
Nathaniel Reed has learned about Sydney's involvement and is assigned to find out what he can as well as stop her but he quickly learns that Sydney is innocent. He also quickly finds himself attracted to her like no other but he is determined to keep her at arm's length no matter what. When things take a turn and Sydney asks for his help, he finds himself coming to her aid and they realize they can't fight the attraction they have for one another.
I thought Harrington has done a fantastic job of weaving the Scepter storyline throughout all of the books and I love the mystery aspect to these stories. This one kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen for our main characters as well as what more we were going to find out about Scepter and I wasn't disappointed in either storyline.

I loved the first book of this series so was super excited when I was given the chance to read book two early! This one picks up right after the end of book one so you don't really miss a beat from one to the next. I do admit, I had to go back and re-read the last few chapters to reorient myself to what happened at the end of book one.
When this book starts, Brie is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to do having been betrayed by both princes. It was great to see her character grow into herself throughout this book. She could have easily just said forget it and given up but she was determined to do what she felt was the right thing to do.
There is still a pretty heavy love triangle in this book (to an extent) and I don't want to give anything away on that front but I think things turned out the way they should have.
When I compare this book to the first one, I enjoyed the first book slightly more but I think this is due to the pacing. This one had areas that I felt dragged a bit but ultimately, I still enjoyed the story and it's conclusion.
If you're looking for a great YA Fantasy, considering picking up this book / series. I thought Ryan did a great job with the characters and the storyline. I was invested in finding out how everything was going to turn out and I wasn't disappointed.

I grabbed this one because the summary sounded interesting and I wasn't wrong. The story itself was engaging and I thought the characters were well developed. There were times where I felt the story dragged a bit and I just wanted them to get to the end. There was a lot of back and forth when Grant found out about the bet the sisters had and tried to get Nell to be the one to call it quits.
This is my first book by Ginny Baird and I do think I will pick up the other books as I want to see how the sister's stories go. If you're looking for a contemporary romance with a mix of sweet romance and funny bits, consider picking this one up.
