This was a re-read for me :) I thought it was a very neat insight into the game. I thought it was a bit dry in the middle when the various teams were discussed, but a good read overall! The list of moves were my favorite. I really wish this were a real sport! ;-D

"All was well." The perfect ending to a wonderful series.

Oh my goodness. I definitely never read this one on my first read when these books were all released. If I did, I 100% do not remember anything that happened in this book. I feel that this was the most intense one of the series so far. Can't wait to read the last one!

I don't want to give anything about this book away. Read it, trust me.

Favorite quotes:
"...inside of humans is this thing, this unnamed need to feel as if we are useful in the world."

"We don't have to be so anxious about everything. We can just be. We can get up, anticipate that the day will probably have a few good moments and a few bad ones, and then just deal with it. Take it all in and deal the best we can."

So this was the Harry Potter book that I never finished the first time around because I couldn't stand how Harry was acting (though it was totally understandable of course, for what he had been going through). This time around, I focused less on Harry's attitude and more on the way Hermione shut him down every time and I felt much better about it. I can't believe how much I missed by not finishing it! Phew!!

This was a nice read! At first I thought that it was a little hard to get into. I was annoyed with the constant use of, "gentle reader," "loyal reader," etc. and "disconcertingly human-like hand." But once I was introduced to the narrator, and understood what he was, the narration style made much more sense and I was hooked. Typical marvel style, there were lots of funny lines and parts. For example, the last line in one chapter was "'What the -tik!- flark is going on up there?' Gruntgrill asks," and the title of the next chapter was "This Is What The -Tik- Flark Is Going On Up There," LOVE IT!

Love, love, loooove this one! I forgot a fair amount of the things that happen in this book, so rereading it was amazing.

I'm usually not a huge fan of short stories, but this collection was lovely! This is a wonderful read for the holiday season! I blew right through it because I checked it out from the library and knew there are 6 others waiting to read it, and I felt bad holding them up.

My suggestion would be to read one story at a time (like my friend and I had planned to do) on each of the 12 days of Christmas. :)

I LOVED:
It's A Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown- Stephanie Perkins *****
Your Temporary Santa- David Leviathan *****
What the Hell Have You Done, Sophie Roth?- Gale Forman *****
Welcome to Christmas, CA- Kiersten White *****

I really enjoyed:
Midnights- Rainbow Rowell ****
Angels in the Snow- Matt De La Pena ****
Krampuslauf- Holly Black ***
Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus- Myra McEntire ****
Star of Bethlehem- Ally Carter ****

I didn't really like:
The Lady and the Fox- Kelly Link *
Polaris is Where You'll Find Me- Jenny Han **
The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer- Laini Taylor *

If you are picking up this book only because you love this show, I think you are probably going to be disappointed. This is a memoir, not a work of fiction. So while there are some bits of dialogue, the majority is just blocks of narrational text. And of course, everything is based solely from Piper's point of view because it is her memoir.

I really enjoyed that the book starts with a young Piper, who is right in the middle of a bad situation; she's standing in a baggage claim waiting for her luggage which is full of drug money that she is smuggling into another country. Even though I know what was going to happen, I still felt a bit anxious. As the story continues, we see what her life was with Nora for a brief time before Piper distances herself and works to get her life back on the right track. We then follow her "downfall" as she waits for court dates and sentencing. That all happens in the first 31 pages. The rest of the book focuses on the thirteen months that Piper spent in prison.

Right from the start of the book, I just could not make myself care about the main character/author. However, I did really respect her patience and ability to take a step back before she ever seemed to let her anger get the best of her. And bravo to her for putting together this book.

Of course, I cannot imagine what it would be like in prison, but it felt to me like many things were just glossed over. However, I also understand that the main point of her memoir was to highlight relationships and general compassion. Because of that, I tried to keep myself focused on that theme rather than letting my mind wander into other areas that she just wasn't highlighting.

While I enjoyed reading this book, I also felt like the author was trying to make me get something more out of it. But I wasn't sure what that something was, exactly... I also had some issues with the flow of the text. Some things were a little repetitive from time to time. I found myself reading some bits that I thought would have been more effective in a different chapter. I also found myself getting a bit bored in the third quarter of the book, so it took me a while to actually finish reading it.

Definitely a good read, and I would recommend it for sure! But I will not be rereading it.

I got more than halfway and realized that I just can't justify finishing this book.

I don't like either of the main the characters at all. They both give me a wicked sleeze-ball vibe. One is engaged, but probably shouldn't be. The other knows she's engaged but doesn't seem to care.

I think the storyline is incredibly boring and SO repetitive. I hate that Allie is engaged and has to continuously remind herself of that fact. All the mentions of Allie noticing Noah's muscles had me rolling my eyes. And I couldn't handle reading another "he/she knew that he/she was thinking about him/her." And the dialogue...not a fan.

Too much.
