I'm a sucker for any books that focus on publishing, especially when it focuses about the administrative and marketing sides. Nora is so relatable as she struggles with a paycut, juggling 2 competing jobs, and a budding romance with Andrew Santos. Add on to that the listlessness of depression and a lack of satisfaction in life, and you have a book that's perfect for anyone feeling at odds with their career. This book couldn't have come at a better time.

This book is seriously AMAZING for people who enjoy reading thrillers, contemporaries, or environmentally focused books. It scratched all of those itches for me, plus benefitted from a fantastic narrator whose skills at accents blew me away. The voicework was just phenomenal. But most importantly, I love to learn things from the books that I read and this novel taught me so much about ecology and conservation, not to mention the wolf hunting crisis in Scotland. As a warning though, there is immense talk of gore, abuse, and rape in this book that could definitely be triggering. For me, it just read so powerfully and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This book is all about TENSION! The will-they-won't-they of Adrian and Nova, the introduction of Agent N, the Vitality Charm, eek! While Renegades was a bit slow to get started, this book was in the action right away and I couldn't put it down. And the betrayal, oh the betrayal...

I loved seeing Max more in this book, as he's just adorable and a key player in the plot. I can't wait to read the next book and see how that bracelet of Nova's works! (The title of the next one is kind of a huge spoiler anyways, so...)

This book is phenomenal and left me misty-eyed. This is a book about books, joy, loss, purpose... really just everything. Watching Amelia work through her grief while simultaneously falling for Nolan felt so natural. I really empathized with her struggle to honor Jenna's memory while also trying to find herself. The outside pressure from Jenna's family just kept permeating her mind, but I'm happy with how the story ended. I definitely want to go to Michigan after reading this!

This was a fun one, especially for someone with the wanderlust bug. I've seriously never wanted to visit Utah so badly! I loved the maturity of the characters as they navigate a workplace romance and some of the hilarious hijinks they get up to. The plot was the main focus of the book (which y'all know I love in a romance), but that didn't make the romance scenes any less STEAMY. Like turn the ceiling fan on in my bedroom level of hot! I'd recommend this book to anyone who's a fan of travel, girlbosses, or revenge. (Just the tiniest bit of revenge, but I'm here for it.)

This is a horrific and gory ride that will leave you simultaneously wanting to go to IKEA and viewing it as the stuff of nightmares. Everything from the product names to the book design itself is so wonderfully sardonic. Like seriously, BALSAK, GURNE? I'm dead. And I actually would be dead if I had to be in this hellscape of a retail experience. But on the bright side, it's well written and fun to read so it's almost worth it.

This is a combination of a memoir and a history text, filled with humor and factoids. I'm an enormous John Green fan so I loved that he narrated the audiobook. It works so well as his writing is so uniquely his, so reading it in his voice matched the tone of the text. Here we learn about the smallpox vaccine, velociraptors, and wintry mix all through contexts related to Green's personal life and the anthropocene as a whole. These shifts aren't jarring at all, more feeling like a friend telling you a heartfelt story with a few tangents. If you want to truly learn about obscure topics and come out of it with some fun factoids, this is a great choice for you.

This book was a phenomenal exploration of modern adulthood told from the perspective of a young black reporter trying to make a name for herself. I really enjoyed the characters and their intricate relationships, as well as the commentary on racism. We get to hear her family's stories of racism, which differ from segregation to microaggressions, and examine how it presents itself in modern times. I honestly can't wait to read more of Tabitha's story as she journeys through IVF, dating, and beyond.

I'll be honest, I'm still not sure what happened. But I couldn't put this book down and I really enjoyed the writing style. This is an addictive thriller with a gorgeous atmosphere and characters that will keep you guessing. Definitely a quick weekend read.
