This is my kind of romance! Take a badass woman with goals, a hot rival in her field, and pop them on a ship where they have to constantly interact? That’s a recipe for romantic gold. But on top of that, the book also discusses important topics like gaslighting, impostor syndrome, and conservation. I loved Henley as a character and how she grew throughout the book. The romance scenes were steamy, but still tame enough to keep me interested. I’d love to see a follow-up book about Walsh!

There was a lot going on in this book - an incredible magic system, a Jack the Ripper style murder mystery, flashbacks all over the place... and it got to be a bit much. This was well-written, but was bogged down with unexplained details in the worldbuilding. The characters were compelling enough, but they weren't featured much. We spent most of our time in Krona's head and delving into her psyche. Overall it's a good fantasy, but I felt like it needed a little more paring down.

This is a cute quick read and I loved it! The color scheme was perfect and fit great with the themes of the book. I do think that this is more of a middle grade book than a YA, as it wasn't very hard-hitting and there were some overly cliche elements. But I appreciated the plot and the friendship between J.B. and Zoe and hope to see this become a series.

This was a charismatic read that left me questioning what was truly real. Despite knowing in my heart that The Unity Project was a cult, I couldn't help but sympathize with their cause and that's a true credit to the writing. It became so easy to see how someone could get wrapped up in false promises and a perceived religious backing. I loved being able to hear from Lo and Bea's perspectives, though I felt that the ending was a bit rushed.

This book was ADORABLE!! Take The Parent Trap and multiply it by 2, and you're somewhere in the neighborhood of the vibes of this book. I loved Abby and Savvy's dynamic as they fall into sisterhood and the commentary on grief, control, and making amends. It can be a bit tropey with Abby and Leo but I'm willing to set that aside just because they're 2 pure cinnamon rolls who deserve to be together. This a wholesome YA romance novel that I would read again in a heartbeat.

This was a beautiful thriller about abuse, fear, and loss. I enjoyed Anna's perspective throughout the story, especially hearing her take on the foster system. Hap and Cricket were my favorite characters by far, as I felt they were the most fleshed out. The story did suffer some small pacing issues and I felt as though the perpetrator wasn't fully foreshadowed, but I was satisfied in the end.

WOW. Just WOW.
This is a gripping thriller with a tightly wound conspiracy theory laced in, combined with multiple perspectives and family drama. I'm nearly speechless. Being able to hear the perspectives of the entire Pine family, both dead and alive, really rounded this story out and is something that I haven't seen before in other thrillers. The characters had realistic reactions to the events unfolding which is a big plus in my book, plus we get to follow the highly capable Maggie Pine and Special Agent Keller as they uncover pivotal clues. This is just some twisty turny thrilling goodness.

I had high hopes for this book given the comparisons to Inception and Recursion. However I felt that the book was too short to build the appropriate tension and instead relied on constant gaslighting of the main character as an attempt to create a sense of unreliability in the mother. It seemed like towards the end there was such pressure to tie everything up neatly that I left the book with a sour taste in my mouth. Overall just disappointing unfortunately.

This is an addictive thriller best read in a single sitting. Throughout this book I was constantly reminded of The Great Gatsby, much in the smalltown opulence and in the eccentric portrayal of Margot. As Sophie is lured in to a new social group, the plot quickly begins to thicken with the introduction of the elusive social club with a no questions asked attitude. For me there were still questions left unanswered by the ending, and I felt it was a bit rushed. However it's still a raunchy thriller with a lot of oomph to keep you coming back for more.

I love Rachel Bloom, so it's no surprise that I loved this book. This is a wonderful discourse on bullying, mental illness, and being a woman in comedy. Mixing that in with frequent quizzes, a Harry Potter fanfiction, and a comprehensive rating of award shows, I was over the moon. This book is perfect for fans of Crazy Ex Girlfriend or anyone who just needs a laugh.
