I finished this yesterday but it was really hard for me to rate it right away. While I really enjoyed it, it seemed full of things I've read before, also a lot of cliches. The reason this is 4 stars instead of three, is because I loved the pace and the characters, and the fact that I couldn't put it down.
Here's my review on my youtube channel- http://youtu.be/IOlE4VeO0y8

While reading this I was in a bit of a book hangover, but I feel like even if I wasn't it may still have gotten the same rating...
I liked:
- the relationships
- the world
- the concept
- the biology aspect (genetics are cool!)
- the fast pace
I disliked:
- that it was set too close to the present. I don't think authors should set years on their dystopians...
- while I clearly understand a lot of the genetics terms I know many others would not
- a lot of back and forth emotions
- I feel like the plot wasn't woven enough; I was never really surprised or shocked about anything and it was all just given to you on a silver platter.

I did really enjoy reading this book and the whole thing was left so open-ended that I just may read the next, but it's not high on my list.

I'm so sad because it's all over. Here comes the mourning period. I loved this. It was beautiful. Will review when I've collected all the things I loved if that's even possible.

So I'm probably most likely team Warner now?
Also the ending is so worth Juliette's annoying-ness.
review on my blog

I'm fighting the urge to pick up the next book up right now.
I'm really hoping Warner will somehow get into the underground compound and like, team up with Juliette and Adam, but I'm also kinda doubting it. But wouldn't it be the perfect way to escape his father? (yeah that probably why it won't happen)
The only thing that missing is if Warner cares so much about Juliette then why was he such a douche? Why was he being so forceful and rude? GAHH this series is ruining my life!

Read it for school so it kind of sucked, but it really is a brilliant classic. 3 stars!

I still can't pinpoint on why I've given this 4 stars instead of five. Need time to process...
I did REALLY love it though. Juliette's character development is insane, purchasing the novella like... now!

4.5 stars
sad and perfect all at the same time.
review and discussion of the entire series on my youtube channel!

3 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the plot and the idea, but I found this book really difficult to get through. I was afraid that if I put it down for too long, I'd never pick it up again.
Seraphina is a high fantasy novel about a strange girl (at least initially I got the impression she was strange)living in the castle. The world she lives in is one where Dragons and humans co-exist... sort of. There's a divide in the kingdom of people that agree with the peace treaty with the dragons and some that don't.
Along with this plot point, consists one where Seraphina is extremely talented with music. I was happy that it's early on in the book that you find out why she is the why she is and why she seems so secretive. I was worried the author was going to drag it out too much, but it worked out great!
I'm not sure exactly why it took me so long to finish this. I think certain things dragged a bit, but I just had a lot of trouble getting through it. I've had this problem with high fantasy before (aka Harry Potter) so maybe the genre just isn't for me, and I don't have any dying urge inside me to check out the next book.
Still, I enjoyed reading it. So, 3 stars from me.
