** spoiler alert ** WOW WOW WOW. This series is shaping up to be so good. I am so confused about why I've never heard anybody talk about this series on booktube, booktok, etc. Maybe because the last book came out awhile ago but man is it worth looking into. I NEVER give 5 stars, let alone to the sequel AND the first book. I can't wait to continue reading this series.

We met so many new numbers in this story it was awesome. And everyone has a personality! I enjoyed the back and forth structure between Four's story and Seven's. It felt like I was reading two books at once and they came together so seamlessly at the end. We also learned more about Lorien and finally got to see what was inside Four's chest. I was excited to see the reunion between Four and Sarah, but I have to admit it fell short for me. The blatant jealousy emitting from Sarah was gross and to think she might have turned Four in to the FBI seems fake. This was never confirmed though, and I hope it isn't forgotten in the next book.

I listened to this book on audiobook and the narrators were awesome once again (I also listened to I Am Number Four). My one complaint about the story in general is that you can tell it was written by a man. The female behavior is sometimes so laughable and cliche that it pains me.

I have never read a paranormal type story before so maybe this was too intricate for me but I genuinely have no idea what I just read (listened to*). If I hadn’t listened to it I genuinely think I would have DNF’d. All I got out of it was Blue can’t kiss anyone because they might be her true love and they’ll die.

And that one of the Raven Boys has been dead but alive as a very physical ghost this whole time?

I’m very confused and probably won’t be continuing this series for awhile.

Do not discount this book due to it’s slower paced start! It gets really good, and does a lot of world building to start out which can lead to some laggy plot. Once I got to know Day and June it was a whole new world. I really enjoyed getting both of their backstories.

The second half of this book is definitely the better half, and I’m eager to read the next books in the series. There were several plots that I didn’t see coming and I love when a book isn’t entirely predictable. Dystopian style America/world is one of my favorite worlds to read in and I’m excited to be hooked by a new story with those themes.

I’m starting to become a huge fan of the alternating POVs in books. It really lets me get into the heads of the characters and I feel like it just molds the story so much better than a single POV.
