4.5 ~ I would have liked to see at least mentioned (correct me if it is) the fact that victims of rape aren't only girls and rapists aren't only guys.
But other than that, this.book was great.
I love each girl's story individually (ERIIIIIIN) and when they come together they were just as great. The story they created together was important, touching and impactful.

3.5 I did appreciate the characters and their relationships. Especially Pepper and OWL. The found family element is what I came for and... it was okay.
The problem here is I'm obviously going to compare it to The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet where we got the same kind of things, but
1. For the first time. And
2. Better.
The lack of plot (again, it's a good character-driven story) was forgivable as I was listening to the audiobook but I'm sure it would have taken me ages to get through it if I were reading the physical copy.

4.5 ~ Horror isn't normally my thing, but now I think I just might pick it up more often...
I went into this adult horror book for the promise of sapphic ladies and disability representation, and on that note I definitely wasn't disappointed.
I appreciated seeing an autistic lesbian as one of the main characters, multiple deaf people, physical disability, chronic pain and medication, a bi hero and incredible women in places of power and respect. All of this while on a boat in the middle of the Pacific, on the verge of being killed by sirens.
All. The. Claps.
The science that was explained was fascinating to me and I jut wanted to learn more! Not only about the creatures but also about the ship and all the fields that were being studied by everyone aboard.
The suspense was wonderful, especially in the last 100 pages. It was difficult to not think about this book all day long.
However I must admit I was a teeny bit disappointed by the ending, which seemed a little abrupt to me. It seems like there may be other books in this series (can anyone confirm?), and if so I can accept this ending. If not, I want more.

I appreciate the attempt of bringing an interesting and diverse group of characters into a somewhat interest world. However it didn't actually work for me.
I didn't feel any urgency to story, Maybe because I didn't really get why they had to do what they were doing.. Sadly this meant I wasn't sucked in like I would have liked.
As for the characters, they ARE a great cast. But they just don't really get to show off how interesting.they could be until maybe their last chapters each.
I didn't feel much until the story was ending...

EN : Well this book was bloody beautiful. I'm still trying to recover from the amount of tears I shed (mostly from happiness).
To be honest the first half took me ages to get through, because I wasn't expecting this kind of book, but once I understood that, and realised how beautiful it was, my heart was captivated. It's a slow-paced, character-driven story, almost a phylosophical reflexion of what it is to be human (told through characters who mostly are aliens), it's about acceptance, what it is to be who you want to be, and to create a family with the people whom ou have chosen to be around, and not just your biological family. And it was BEAUTIFUL.
This person reviewed it brilliantly, giving 10 reasons to read this book (diversity/world-building/etc.) and I couldn't have put it any better.

Couldn't remember why this was on my kindle at first but then the main character turned out to be on the ace spectrum and it made me soooo happy.
Also, found family element. Love that.
Other than that, it's a nice story with a rather cheesy & too easy resolution but hey, it's about queer guys ending very happily with their found family of 3 kids. Can't argue with that.

Well what a pleasant surprise.
Classics aren't something I usually go for but as this is one of my bff's fave, I decided it was time.
I appreciated the characters who were more complex than I'd originally thought and the critic of the society really was interesting.
Mr Bennet deserves all the awards.

Well, being angry at an.author because of the way they write their books is something I can relate too. Envisioning murder because of it? Now that's some messed up mindset that I'll admit is preeetty interesting.
I kinda saw the end coming which made it a little less impactful than it was probably meant to be.
PS: grammatical tip: use "their" in stead of "his or her", maybe that way readers won't want to act like Grazine ;)

It's pretty similar to the book, which means it's bloody brilliant!
I am extremely curious to see how it works on stage with the ENSEMBLE forming the scene and how THE MONSTER is actually played.
One day.
Also, I cried almost as much as I did in the book and Ness' note at the beginning made me cry even more.
I love this story.
