Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
5.0

4.5 ~ Horror isn't normally my thing, but now I think I just might pick it up more often...

I went into this adult horror book for the promise of sapphic ladies and disability representation, and on that note I definitely wasn't disappointed.
I appreciated seeing an autistic lesbian as one of the main characters, multiple deaf people, physical disability, chronic pain and medication, a bi hero and incredible women in places of power and respect. All of this while on a boat in the middle of the Pacific, on the verge of being killed by sirens.
All. The. Claps.

The science that was explained was fascinating to me and I jut wanted to learn more! Not only about the creatures but also about the ship and all the fields that were being studied by everyone aboard.
The suspense was wonderful, especially in the last 100 pages. It was difficult to not think about this book all day long.

However I must admit I was a teeny bit disappointed by the ending, which seemed a little abrupt to me. It seems like there may be other books in this series (can anyone confirm?), and if so I can accept this ending. If not, I want more.
