Oh my goooood! Why haven’t I read this sooner?!? The book has literally been on my shelf for about a year now and I’ve picked it up a few times but always opted for something else.

This story is incredible!
The world building is thorough but not dreadfully boring.

The characters are fleshed out and everyone has a complexity to them that you don’t see during their first introduction.

THE P L O T T W I S T IS AMAZING, while someone probably guessed it; I was wayyyy off in my theory but the plot twist itself isn’t pulled out of a hat. When thinking back, there are clues and connections everywhere.

The book ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger, enough to want you to read the next book but not so much that you need to start it right this second. The end also tied up a lot of unanswered questions and simultaneously left hope for our main characters and their journey.

I can’t wait for book two!

Listened to the audiobook at 2,5 speed and now feeling the absolute need to SCRUUUUB my brain.
In regards to other Christina Lauren books, this one is just mediocre

“It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us”

It’s not only recommended to check the trigger warnings before reading this book, it is absolutely necessary.

I am conflicted. On one hand I absolutely adore the book and the way that it’s written. However, the story annoyed the hell out of me. I am not here to judge abusive relationship and why people stay in them, but I constantly found myself annoyed with Lily after each incident.

The writing was fantastic and each character had their own unique backstory and reasoning behind their actions.
Allyssa was a particularly favorite character. She is driven, compassionate, and fueled by her love for the people around her. The first time she interacted with Lily after a incident, I was furious. She pretty much excused her brothers behavior, even though her dear friend felt the consequences. However, the line “As his sister, I wish more than anything that you could find a way to forgive him. But as your best friend, I have to tell you that if you take him back, I will never speak to you again” really did it for me. I love her.

Good enough to keep me occupied since I can’t sleep but jesus fucking Christ

Writing this review two months after finishing the book is possibly not a great idea, but here we go.

No Exit by Taylor Adams is a fantastic mystery read!
It is fast-paced, but it does not feel rushed in any way. The story is genuinely a rollercoaster and keeps you on the very edge of your seat from the first chapter until the last. It is not a good time to be a nail-biter.

Getting stranded at a mysterious location with a couple of strangers is scary enough, but finding a small child locked in a van; is intense. The story kept me hooked right through the end, and I don't think I breathed once during the last chapter! THE END?! WOW, I almost started bawling before continuing to the epilogue.

The movie is fantastic, but the book is way better, in my opinion.

Meet Me in the Margins was surprising. At first, I didn't even think I would finish it.

The first chapter was rough. I had to pause the audiobook and left it paused for two weeks. Another big "cringe" moment was when they mentioned that "she should write a book called meet me in the margins." Usually, I love it when the name gets dropped in the story (for example, It Ends with Us did this exceptionally well!), but this was just eh.

That is really all the bad things I have to say about the story. Now onto the good things that I especially loved!
It is warm and witty, and Will holds a special place in my heart, for the time being, at least. The characters are well written and truly fleshed out. They don't make decisions or act on something out of the blue, which I like.
If I had to point something out, it would be the sisterly relationship that focuses almost primarily on the fact that Savannah is not as perfect as her younger sister. She knows it and almost pushes it into her face daily, although she sort of stole Savannah's boyfriend of 8 years. It didn't bother me, especially after their relationship changed and she saw her faults.

The reveal of the mystery man was obvious and predictable, but with this being a romance novel, it is the only thing that makes sense that they end up together. Duh. I liked their friendship throughout the story and was incredibly thankful that they weren't made enemies or somehow played a relationship in there (for example, fwb, few dates, or so on). However, I was disappointed that it took them so incredibly long to get together, as I literally had 6 minutes (on 2x speed) left of the book when they realized each other.

“He looks at you like you hung the moon”

Dnf around 35%….

Maybe I’ll get around to reading it when I have more time, but I’ll have to start all over with the story, as I am LOST rn

DNF 30%

This is pure garbage. Everything is extremely cliché, the characters are annoying and have no personality and the male character goes from HATING tourist to absolutely falling for one, calling her gorgeous and not wanting her to leave Alaska.
The first scene where they meet is RIDICULOUS. “Oh she’s reading a book in a loud restaurant” I MUST KNOW HER???!
