I will literally never get tired of this series, they’re way too fun! Great instalment, this was a fantastic example of some of my favourite tropes
There are elements to this that I liked more than the first one; exploring the Solani more, learning more about Seige and the other members of the crew. But hoooly everything to do with Ana and Di just got on my nerves and really brought down my enjoyment. I found Ana to be very whiny and repetitive. Di’s plot was more interesting but anytime he thought about Ana I was just immediately annoyed.
This was fun, I enjoyed it, but I'm really hoping it will be the last book in the series. It's starting to feel a little over-done for me now
I loved the characters and the romance of this one, but the set up felt too similar to the last book to be as enjoyable as I wanted. I’m starting to see what people mean when they say these books start to feel the same after a while

This was fun! I definitely prefer the original trilogy, but this is a good addition to it. I like Wren and the side characters best, especially Bogdana and Jack of the Lake. Oak is alright but not a favourite. I found the plot to be rather predictable, but it was still entertaining and I'm very much looking forward to book two (which is an agonizingly long ways away)

I never expected a book about moss to make me tear up, and yet here we are!
I’ve heard such incredible things about this author’s work, but I don’t read a lot (or hardly any) non-fiction so I wasn’t sure if I would ever pick up one of her books. But I’m so so glad I finally decided to give it a try! This was unbelievably beautiful. You can feel the love she has for her craft pouring out of her with every word, it was a joy to experience. The language was accessible enough that, even though I know nothing about moss or biology in general, I didn’t find myself confused or lost in what she was saying. This was delightful and I can’t wait to read other things from this author. I highly recommend the audiobook for this one!

Such a fun read! It had the lighthearted and whimsical nature of a middle grade, but with an interesting enough plot that it's good for an older crowd as well. Kingfisher continues to surprise me with the range of what she writes in; nothing that I've read from her so far has been even remotely the same and makes me excited to keep reading from her
Not my favourite instalment but still really good! I love the main characters, they were so much fun to read and I loved the depth they had. I did feel like I was missing the strong friendship bonds that were present in other books, which is weird because Maria’s whole thing is that she needs to be around people she loves all the time. I also really didn’t like the huge time jump; I turned the page and all of a sudden it’s saying 6 years have gone by? I wish we could have seen their relationship build over that time, it would have made their chemistry a lot stronger. The snippets of text messages that were sprinkled throughout weren’t enough to fill that gap. And the self-realization at the end went on for WAY too long. It could have been cut in half and it still would have been long lol. Like I get it, you’ve finally realized when the reader already knew this whole time that you fucked up, shut and go deal with it
