There were things I enjoyed about The Wren in the Holly Library. I loved Kierse's friendship with Ethan and Gen. I liked the magic system. I kind of guessed the ending though. I'm not sure if I'll continu  the series or not. 

There is a lack of world building but the duo of Blackwell and Swift make up for it. There are several different magic types such as chaos mages and mayham mages that I'd like to learn more about. Blackwell abd Swift make a good detective team and I loved the quips between the two. I will be continuing this series if for no other reason I want to know what happened to Blackwell's pervious partner.

As a child one of my all time favorite movies was The Last Unicorn. I would rewatch that movie over and over again. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized that the movie was based on the book by Peter S. Beagle. I added it to my tbr but never got around to reading it. Reading the story now has bought with it the nostalgia of my childhood. I absolutely loved the book.

I enjoyed reading Foul Days. The story was rich in Slavic folklore. There was just the right amount of monster encounters. The pacing was just right fir me. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

I didn't like Remote Control but I didn't hate it either.  I was expecting more from the story. Like there being actual aliens. I will give the authors other books a chance sometime in the future perhaps.

What a ride! Star Bringer follows seven strangers that are bought together after an accident and the ship that they take. Kali is a princess who hasn't seen much of the universe. Rain is a high priestess who is just so innocent. Merrick is Rain's bodyguard. Ian and Max are mercenaries and they're looking for Milla. Ian is also the self proclaimed captain of the Star Bringer. Gage is a former member of the Corporation. Beckett is an escaped prisoner who becomes the pilot. The story is multi-povs following Kali, Rain, Ian, and Beckett povs. The ship may or maynot have a mind of it's own. 

OMG. I absolutely loved Assistant to the Villain. Evie Sage is such a sweet heart. Evie is in need of a job to help support herself, her father, and her little sister. She runs into the Villain in the forest after another failed attempt. He offers her a job after things happened. The book was funny. I'm interested to see where book two goes.
