Picked this one up for Cursed by Merrie Destefano. What a delicious and dark novella, leading you right into Charmed (originally Feast). I can’t wait to see more of the Darkling and the curse!

There is A LOT going on here.

Still so much going on here.

This book is smarter than I am and I am 200% ok with that.

There are certain parts of history that fascinate me more than others. I love learning about WWI and the multiple political layers that lead to trench warfare. I am interested in Egyptian history. And I am completely intrigued by the English Reformation and the monarchy of the time.

Fatal Throne is a fictional account (inspired by true events and known facts) of the wives of Henry the VIII (and a little bit of Henry, too). Oftentimes the wives are known only through a villain lens and I love how Fatal Throne gave them backstories that harnessed the perceived negative personality traits and turned them into strengths.

The audiobook is a multi-narrator adventure that brings the wives and Henry VIII to life - highly recommend!

This is so darkly middle grade and I’m here for it.

All you need to know is there’s a river named Zoinks and a dog named Tim and it is indeed great.

These are semi happy tears, I promise. Maybe.

Nedra took some unexpected turns but I could have lived without Grey’s POV. Full audio review to come.

This is more than I could have imagined - not a retelling but a companion. The story had the patriarchy not existed. This is the book you need for fall!
