Fatal Throne
by Candace Fleming, Stephanie Hemphill, Deborah Hopkinson, M.T. Anderson, Linda Sue Park, Jennifer Donnelly, Lisa Ann Sandell
There are certain parts of history that fascinate me more than others. I love learning about WWI and the multiple political layers that lead to trench warfare. I am interested in Egyptian history. And I am completely intrigued by the English Reformation and the monarchy of the time.
Fatal Throne is a fictional account (inspired by true events and known facts) of the wives of Henry the VIII (and a little bit of Henry, too). Oftentimes the wives are known only through a villain lens and I love how Fatal Throne gave them backstories that harnessed the perceived negative personality traits and turned them into strengths.
The audiobook is a multi-narrator adventure that brings the wives and Henry VIII to life - highly recommend!
