Terribly cheesy and every problem is wrapped up nicely with a bow, but ... I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this immensely. This book covers body image/self-esteem/weight, mean girls, social media bullying, diabetes, and the pressure to be interested in romantic relationships because all your friends are. Really, this book can be summed into "cute." I do feel like these stories are slightly geared towards girls but anyone can enjoy them.
Also, I loved the artwork because it's so cute! The little boys some of the girls have crushes on are drawn so princely (elegant, cool-looking, etc). I liked the diversity of skin tones, bodies, and races displayed throughout each story.

Cute. Some of the stories are hit and miss and the novelty of the dog/cat advice column runs out rather quickly. My absolute favorite stories were the one with the money-hungry granddaughter (tho slightly-meanspirited), the babysitter stuck with the cookie-crazed toddlers, the germ-burning momma, and the Raina Telgemeier comic.
The Assassin's Apprentice 3 starsStrong opening. This story set up the characters and plot quickly. The romance was just meh.
Errant 1 starI was not expecting that man to throw the dog against the wall. ._. Anyway, this one didn't capture my attention because of too much bickering, judgment, and the overall unicorn business was boring.
Also, Bernard was gross.
The Spirit Jar 3 1/2 starsI liked Marie (Moth) and Adam's banter/conversations. I think Marie's character is interesting especially her backstory.
Lost 3 1/2 starsI enjoyed this one not so much for the romance but the friendship with Josh and the truth behind Haiden's lessons.
The Spy Who Never Grew Up 2 starsThe spy angle was cool, but, at first, I was confused who was the focus of the story. I'm not interested in any romance between the grand-daughter of Wendy and a man-child (Peter Pan).
Dungeons of Langeais 1 star (not because it was bad, but I was so bored)I struggled to keep my interest. I thought the main character was a werewolf/monster-like creature, but actually, he was just cursed by an angel.
Behind the Red Door 4 starsI honestly wanted to hate this one so badly. It's not PC (politically correct), but all of the characters who are not Jo are interesting. Drew does sit a little far on the slimy scale tho. The plot twist was good because I wasn't expecting it. This kept my interest from page one.
Hare Moon 5 stars"She realizes that world might be hers to know after all" (pg 223).
"She wonders how the world ever fell apart with this much love in it" (pg 225).
Who would have thought nuns, zombies, and tough decisions would make such an excellent story? I loved it! I understood all the characters' motives and emotions very well. The sense of duty was a prevalent theme. I could see this happening so much
Familiar 3 starsSlightly cheesy but I liked it despite the leads being in full-blown love after 2 days :p This gave me serious shoujo vibes.
Fearless 4 starsExcellent story about a girl who literally feeds off fear. The villain was likable and her motives weren't honestly evil.
Vermillion 1 star (DNF)Too much girl-jealousy. Nick is treated like God's gift to women, but he's just terribly basic ... and ashy. All these long descriptions of how amazing and hot he is felt like self-insert fanservice.
The Hounds of Ulster 4.5 StarsExceptional! Great narrative voice! This story is centered around music and a friend in love with their best friend.
Many Happy Returns 5 starsEmotional.
A quick lesson on not letting hatred consume you. The ghost business was confusing tho.
