Thank you Montlake and NetGalley for the eARC of Something Spectacular!  All opinions in this review are my own.

Something Spectacular is the second book in the Something Fabulous series so I read it out of order, but unsurprisingly, I loved it!  I love Alexis Hall and it is usually a pretty good bet that will enjoy his books!

My favorite thing about this book was watching Peggy and Orfeo becoming more themselves and seeing how their relationship helped each other do this.  Peggy is finally able to find someone who sees her for who she is and Orfeo is able to find someone who doesn't just want to use them for their talent.  Combine this with Hall's signature witty writing and this was a fantastic historical romance!

After seeing Valentine and Bonny together in Something Spectacular, I can't wait to go back and read Something Fabulous now!  I am also very excited for Sir Horley's book, Something Extraordinary!
lighthearted fast-paced

Thank you St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the eARC of Bookshop By The Bay!  All opinions in this review are my own.

I was first drawn to Bookshop By The Bay because of the synopsis.  After Jess finds out her husband is having an affair, she invests in a bookstore with her best friend on Cape Cod.  While I like the premise of this book, I found the execution to be a little lacking.  The writing is very dialogue heavy, which is not my favorite.  Also, what I thought was going to end up being the big conflict of the novel was resolved quickly and without much drama.  Overall, this is still a good friendship story and would be a great summer beach read!

Thank you Minotaur and NetGalley for the eARC of Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord! All opinions in this review are my own.

I was drawn to this book because of the comparison to Brigerton mixed with Agatha Christie. While I don't completely agree with this pairing, I did enjoy Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord.

At first, I found the beginning to be too dialogue-heavy and hard to get into. However, I loved the main character at Petra and once I got into the story, I really enjoyed the mystery. I'm looking forward to book two!

Thank you Avon and NetGalley for the eARC of Between Us.  All opinions in this review are my own.

I have mixed feelings about this book but eventually I had to DNF it.  I like the friend group dynamics and found myself laughing out loud quite a few times at their antics.  However, the pacing was too slow for me.  It took over 100 pages to get to the event described in the synopsis.  I also really didn't like Joe and have no interest in reading about Roison trying to fix her relationship with him.

I have heard great things about this author so maybe I will try again with another book!
