I DNFed Your Table is Ready at 14%.  Honestly, I realized this book is just not for me.  While I thought I would be interested in the fast-paced restaurant world, I found that these tales were just not keeping my attention.

Unfortunately, I DNFed this one at page 168.  The mystery surrounding the days that Agatha Christie went missing is an alluring premise.  Coupled with the affair her husband was having, I was instantly drawn to this book.  It took me a little while to get used to the fact that the mistress was narrating it but I eventually had to stop because it became more about her and her past rather than Agatha.  There was way too much backstory for her and I got to one scene in particular that proved to myself I was done with the book.

Unfortunately, I DNFed The Kindred at 27%.  I was loving this audiobook until Joy and Felix crash landed on earth.  There was so much great world building prior to this event that I was excited for them to travel to other planets.  I loved the relationship between Joy and Felix and was interested in learning more about their bond.  However, I don't want to read about them in Florida trying to fit in.  The amount of pop culture references took away from the original world building.

I've heard Dow's other book is set in the same world as The Kindred so I'm still curious to read that one!

Not that I expect people to be likable in a thriller, but Her Perfect Twin just takes it a little too far.  At first, I liked the uneven standing that the reader has with Megan.  I was not quite sure when she was telling the truth, but the scheme she eventually concocts just becomes too much to keep track of, especially with the introduction of the pandemic.  I was willing to keep reading until I got to the second part narrated by Chris.  Of course he is not supposed to be likable, but his narration just became too much.

After a little more than 150 pages, I've decided to DNF this book.  It started out really strong and I loved the atmosphere of it.  Unfortunately, things have kind of stalled.  After reading some reviews, I don't know if it will pick up enough again for me to finish it.

Unfortunately, Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake is a DNF for me at 27%.  I have never been drawn to the accidental pregnancy trope.  To be fair, the author warns that this trope is used before the book even begins.  I was curious so I decided to keep listening, but this isn't going to work for me.

Also, I think the audiobook misses the opportunity to use an Australian narrator for Rake's point of view.  The narrator for Lizzie gives him an Australian accent when speaking for him so it felt like I wasn't listening to the same character when it was point of view.

I am 50 pages into The Family Game and I am giving up.  I like thrillers because they usually grab my attention right from the beginning and I can't put them down until the end.  Unfortunately, this didn't happen with The Family Game.  I love the cover and the opening chapter, but then not enough happened to keep me invested.  I heard it does pick up at about 40%, but I'm only at 15% and I don't want to skim read to get there.  Also, the

accidental pregnancy

was the official stopping point for me.  I don't like it in romance books, and I don't want it in thrillers.
