I was honestly lured in by the line "along with a pet rat named Razzie".
The amount of fun that I expected from just that line, was not at all fulfilled. I honestly found reading this incredibly dull and lacking overall.
It felt like it was going through the motions to hit the plot point expected of it.

This gave me Spiderwick Chronicle vibes, the set up is really similar in the sense that a young person finds out there is a world they couldn't see before and has to help save it. Though something in my gut said the Spiderwick Chronicles were much darker then this is.

The keeper of the Little Folks is incredibly wholesome and outside of the implication of a woman being forced into marriage, it is not very dark.

I have mixed feelings while reading this because a part of my idolization of the perfect fridge, as part of my want for a perfect life. Having grown up in chaos, the want for something like this is not uncommon. But in reality, it is unattainable to most people. Even the guidance given in this book isn't enough to make it feasible for most people. Whether due to money or due to a lack of spoons.

The art in the book was gorgeous, but the story was awesome too. More then once I found myself with goosebumps.

As a child the Dust Bowl has been a point in time I had fixated on, but with time the sharp edges of reality had been softened with time and this book does a wonderful job capturing the heartbreak and desperation of the times.

TW: Body horror, sexual content, blood, toxic relationship, infertility, miscarriage, abortion, mental illness, transphobia (and possibly more).

I had an incredibly hard time starting this book, initially when I tried to read it the document was empty and honestly by the end I wish I hadn't ever gone back and looked to see if it had been updated.

This starts out weird, and goes into a level of... Insanity(?) that I had pegged only for Junji Ito. But this book holds none of the grace I've found in Ito's works. Where some of the horror can be found in the things that we aren't shown, but what's implied.

I have a specific panel saved to my desktop from before I found out where this would go, when I thought that this was going to be some commentary on a Toxic Relationship. Oh I was so naieve then.

I am honestly hardpressed to find a positive quality to this book, and in the end all I can come up with is that it had a trans nonbinary character with representation. But they are constantly misgendered throughout this book.

The title of this book was much more straightforward then I had expected to be honest. I had expected it to be more of a euphemism for some demon. But nope, it the Lucifer himself, causing as much chaos as he can manage without legs to take him where he needs to go.
I found this cute, funny, and for some reason oddly interesting. I was disappointed to come to the end of the volume because I am so intrigued by what's going on, but have no clue why it is.

If I can find Volume 2 of this, I definitely plan on continuing this. (Especially because I think Norah and Luci will become good friends)

"How to hatch a human" perfectly summarizes this book, wonderfully chronicling of the history and difference that the incubator has made in our world, while also highlighting how this life saving invention is still out of reach for many.

I wasn't sure this would be comparable to The Ancient Magnus. Given how much I enjoyed that particular series.it was a really high bar to set.
But it did and I LOVED IT!

It is dark and sinister, and incredibly interesting.
To add to this wonderfully well done atmosphere, I found myself deeply enjoying how Kaori went about depicting the trauma and abuse that Belle went through and how this effects her. But how if you look under the tarnish you can see the shining person she was still there.

I WILL, be continuing this manga because the world is incredibly interesting, Belle has already captured my heart and also I have so many questions about how The Beast got into this situation.

I had some grand plan to read original Decagon House Murders to see if this was up to par. But finding the time seems to be the problem.
I really enjoyed this manga and found it super interesting. It is definitely a different way of story telling that I found very engaging.

I do want to continue reading this manga, but I will probably wait until it is completed as it is an ongoing series.

Tiffins, bentos for those of us who hate our foods touching.

Before I knew of bentos I knew of Tiffins, I'm not sure where I learned of them but in my childlike mind the Tiffin was the pinnacle of the Miners Lunch Pail and I needed one.

Reading this rekindled that fire for tiffins, but also has given me a ton of recipes that I desperately want to try. 1. Because I love vegetables and often enough they are not the star of the show. 2. it's vegan 3. So many of these recipes felt genuinely unique, and different.

The one thing I will say is that this being an ARC it was in black and white, it's easy to forget how much color plays a part in our interpretation of food and without any color this food looks so flat.
