I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, Volume 1
Kenkyo na Circle, Yosuke Kokuzawa
I have some really weird feelings about this book, and I think it all comes down to discrepancy in tone in the depictions of women.
This book spells it out clearly that Lloyd is not interested in women, to the point that he wouldn't even nurse as a baby. It makes some sense that Lloyd would not view those around him sexually as he is physically only 10. But what I quickly got fed up with is that every single woman is hypersexualized, which we can easily assumed isn't how Lloyd is viewing this world.
I get that this is made for the male gaze, but this fanservice is honestly a detriment to the story,
I really liked Tao because I liked the idea of Tao's sexuality playing against Lloyd's lack of sexual interest. Also he Qi puns honestly had me laughing while I was reading this.
I probably won't continue this manga, partially because the hypersexualization and partially because I can already see it getting repetitive.

DNF
I wanted to like this book so much, I really did. I am always here for the humanization of those in Long Term Care Facilities.
But this book was so dreadfully dull to read that I had to finally call it quits and leave it as a lost cause.

This book saw me and was like "Hey YOU! I was made for you"
Advice that isn't aggressively optimistic (happy) and then you add VINN DIAGRAMS!
This book brought me so much joy.

I nearly died laughing on the contents page of this book, so I went into this book with much higher expectations then I would normally going into a manga.
Even with my already high expectations this Manga blew me into the stratosphere with how much joy it brought me.
This is the first RomCom Manga that I have picked up in a long time that made me genuinely laugh. While also making me love and root for the couple.
My one nitpick is that it is titled "Love After World Domination" and Desumi is definitely still on the road to World Denomination.
I did enjoy that Gekko leadership is made up of three girls and a bear, and nearly everything in regards to the Gelato 5 is incredibly humorous to me.
Will I be continuing this? YES
Will I be watching the anime in 2022? Most Defenitely.

This book had a somewhat interesting premise (I hesitate to say original). But I spent the entire book with this overwhelming feeling of dread, so much so I wasn't really interested in the plot hooks being dropped.
I found this incredibly uninteresting overall, and ended up DNF-ing at about 30% because I just couldn't slog through more of this.
It was an interesting look at how much comic/graphic novels have changed over the years though.

Very Wholesome.
This would be much improved if all Muscles were equally appreciated. Where is the appreciation for the nice toned women, Kaho?
Muscles = Justice, only if it means all Muscles!
But let's be real, I'm all about women using their skills to get that bread. But this was weird on a level I have not experience in a while.
The romance feels really awkward.
Chapter 3, is Class Trip episode and it is way to early to enjoy something like that.
Personally I can't stomach more of the sheer awkwardness of this Manga, and won't be continuing.

There is a whole page that would make Alex Louis Armstrong proud.
The world building could definitely use some refining, I'm struggling to understand how or what evolution is in context to this world.
This book is consistently heartwarmingly adorable. Especially in regards to Belamus' relationship with his mother and sister.
I do have some strong ick feelings on the sexualization of characters like Belamus' sister (who is 7!) when they
Goblin's "evolve". (Why does she have boobs? Like SERIOUSLY?!)
Which makes me feel bad for getting giggles out of Balmus' being a smol child, and having a normal conversation for a grown man.
While I honestly loved this book, SO MUCH. I am not sure I will continue on as I'm not really that interested in the foreshadowed conflict (rivalry?). So I'm not sure I will pick up the next book.

But I Live: Three Stories of Child Survivors of the Holocaust
Emmie Arbel, Nico Kamp, David Schaffer, Charlotte Schallie, Rolf Kamp
The art in this book is gorgeous, paired with the depictions of these survivors experiences during the Holocaust.
The combination allows for an incredibly moving work that sucks you in and leaves you thinking about the stories for days to come.
