Ok I read this along time ago while I was still being homescholed. It was one of the first books I read upon geting my new library card and this book hooked me from start to finish. It was an intresting book that left me with a erie sence afterwords after seeing the abuse in it. And through the years It has most definatly stuck with me the most of alot of the books I have read. Im rereading it right now since I just hunted it down in my library.
As someone with small ones in my life seeing how others have approached explaining the state of the world to them. These essays were incredibly moving and had some amazing points.
This book at it's core about being an activist at your level of ability and it's honestly beautiful.
I must say that I think this could have been way more impactful before the election. But I'm intrigued to come back in April to see if this book has a different impact.

I wanted to love this book, especially since I honestly loved Quinn as a character, and I'm honestly intrigued by the superpower system.
But I finished it feeling like the hook just didn't get me as it wanted to. It was more like Velcro catching on me as I walk by grabbing my attention but not holding it for long.
If the second volume fell in my path I would definitely read it but, I can't see myself seeking it out.

At the halfway point of this book, I was already on the search to see if I could get a physical copy of it locally. Because I know I will be coming back to it time and time again.
This book has stories that made me laugh, and made me nearly cry. It feels like the touch of humanity that we all need in a time like this. But also it has the kinds of stories that you find yourself turning to time and time again.
Paired with the beautiful variation of narrators this audiobook has, I can't recommend this enough no matter what version you choose.

This book is gorgeous Vic Lee's Art is something that I found myself zooming in to look closer at pieces. Because It is so intricate.
But I also found myself surprised by how far away January of this year feels, part of me feels like March was just a little while ago. But when confronted with the newslines we were hearing in January and February, as well as the early headlines of the pandemic. It's easy to realize how desensitized we have become to these headlines after nearly a year.
As an American it is also interesting to see how similarly and differently things affecting people living in a different country.

When this book says it's The Definitive Guide it isn't slacking and it's definitely not playing around. This book answered questions in an understandable way, that I had kinda let fall to the wayside due to the sheer abundance of questionable information the internet had provided me.
But also this book goes into things that are always hard to find information for like how does one continue this kind of diet while pregnant or breastfeeding and how to do so safely and successfully. Which is somewhere information is always lacking.
I also enjoyed that it offered menu ideas broken down by age, it was really interesting to look into.
While I wasn't super excited about a fair number of the recipes, there were definitely ones I will be picking out to add to my rotation and I think that the information provided definitely makes up for me not loving every recipe I see.

Would I call this a Self Help book? Not really.
At it's core this book is a bit of fun, some questions to ponder and ask friends. Some can be thought provoking just as anything else is, but none of these questions are deeply insightful to who you are as a person. If that is what you are looking for their are better journals that can help you work on that.
If you're looking for something to allow you to get to know your friends and loved ones better and have some fun doing so this is the book you want.

The art style of this book is gorgeous, the watercolor style makes the emotions so much more poignant. I also enjoy the Xinyue's moral ambiguity throughout this book it felt unique in it's own way especially in comparison to his brother. Also the baby chadolo is the cutest thing since Baby Groot, possibly even more so.
This book is a page turner you find yourself invested before you know it and the cliffhanger will make you desperate to pick up the next book.

It's Gay, and it Slaps.
This brought me so much happiness, but for weird reasons. I found Noel insufferable, honestly, up until the end very end. But in reality, I think it is because I saw myself in Noel, in the ways I have been toxic in the past and even in the present.
As much as this book is about two girls falling in love, it is also about learning the importance of good communication and that you can't have one person be everything to you. You can't hold them responsible when they can't meet that insane expectation.
So while I'd recommend that at least Noel and June see a therapist, it does have some insanely cute moments. You have to work to get there.

I enjoyed this a lot, mostly because Tilly is awesome, and sweet. I really appreciated watching her grow as I read this because we honestly could see her growth from beginning to end. I also enjoyed that the new and interesting super powers that some of the other characters had it didn't feel like the same old same old,
What I didn't feel like I enjoyed was how the idea of "fake news" ended up being tangled into the story. Maybe because it is already something touted as way to rebuke someone by the right. Seeing it even fictionalized makes me grit my teeth because it feels like there isn't an escape from it.
