The first two chapters are an insanely wild ride, that honestly made me grin. It's awesome that while the forefront of this ends up being about romance a lot of the time. The core is friends supporting friends.
Even when they might not be doing their best at it. While Daisy does try to support Esther through the relationship she is in, it's also evident Daisy needs her own help. and therefore is kinda a terrible resource for Esther to lean on.
Also it's still a big shock to see them drinking in the Residence Halls. I don't know if or when that will stop causing me to double take.

Good Gods this hit the mark on how it feels to try and find a place in a college town, that isn't a complete slum.
This time on Giant Days you can find:
There are Cute queers.
Failing to Move on.
Further heartbreak.

I stopped writing my response to further ponder my feelings on this book to see if I could find better words to describe the rollercoaster this book sent me on.
I will say first and foremost, and I wasn't expecting the twist this book gave me. As someone who often has caught wind of the twist long before it is revealed, this was refreshing.
But what I honestly loved with this book was the "Found Family" vibes I left this book with. While it isn't what I'd typically expect of a found family where it's the friends you make along the way. It more played into childhood whimsy where a mysterious person shows up and sweeps you away, informing you your life so far has been incorrect.
I also found the "magic" system incredibly interesting overall. While definitely a concept that has been explored before to some extent. It was an interesting take nonetheless.
I felt that the ending was incredibly lackluster and didn't meet the buildup level there was for it.

This book very well may be my new favorite book.
I don't know if any book has ever from beginning to end evoked so much emotion in me. There were moments that had me giddy with laughter, and others that had me literally in tears as I listened.
Then add the LGBT representation that exists throughout the book. While I could have probably loved this book, without it. These moments honestly ended up being some of my favorite moments. The diversity of this representation, was awesome. But it definitely hit the point of historically we've always been here, historians just didn't look close enough, or ruled it out as something else.

This book has been on My TBR for quite some time; Good Reads says that I put it on my TBR in May of last year, but I distinctly remember looking at it when I was in B&N picking up books for my little brothers birthday earlier than that and being captivated by the cover.
Honestly, I am struggling to find ways to express how much I love this book now that I have finished it.
I'm a sucker for dual perspective storytelling, where one perspective is in the past, and one is in the present. Especially with us getting to watch January learn about that past in the story alongside us, it was gorgeous.
This book is very much a love story, but I struggle to consider it a romance fiction piece.

This manga took me by surprise, but I think that is because I allowed my understanding of the plot to be swayed by Chapter One's "Title page" illustration, which was a mistake. After all, this manga is definitely not violent. And while the image gives off some distinct Enemies to Lovers vibes. That isn't this Manga.
This manga is a lovely romance. That addresses the grief of a loved one and coming to terms with the fact that you can never know how they would have felt about something else. Paired with some beautiful character growth.
Would Recommend If: You want a sweet but somewhat sad manga that is encompassed within one volume.
This book has been my guilty pleasure over the last few days, Enemies to Lovers, is something that I typically don't seek out due to the fact that it is often written as a Slow Burn romance, which I can never hold out for. OR WORSE Insta-Love, which defeats the entire purpose of Enemies to Lovers.
While on the scale of Insta-Love to Slowburn, I wouldn't call it a good middle ground, it definitely sits closer to Insta-Love. If you're a slow burn lover, I wouldn't recommend it.
My boyfriend description was:"Enemies? to Friends to Enemies to Lovers?"
I enjoyed the banter between Alec and Mara, along with the growth of their friendship. Along with getting to experience the destruction of that friendship from both of their points of view.
What was disappointing was the fact that I wanted to know more about the Magic that was a giant plot point of this book. It felt very black or white, no inbetween. But also there isn't really a given reason Mythical or Literal as to why only this one family is supposed to have magic. The solution was interesting, but the background was lacking.

This book is short and sweet, 96 pages in print, just under two hours in the audiobook that I had the joy to read, if joy can be interpreted as dread inducing..
Being a master of Self Sabotage, it's nearly where my constant mind set and while I know it isn't healthy. It doesn't make it any easier to escape.
This book while a direct confrontation to an unhealthy habit I have, it also felt like it paired with a warm hug. Like a friend working to support you and introduce you to healthy coping mechanisms to replace the ones you already have.
This book is definitely is a introduction with the topic, consumable to most. people. Easy to interpret and apply.

I know that Mystery/Thriller books are often hit or miss for me but I was lured in by the mystery posed, the strained sisterly relationship, and tangential story lines.
This book kept me engaged through the entirety of this book, at no point did I not want to pick it up again and continue this story. But I also at no point really felt anything in regards to this story.
While the concept was interesting, and even the execution was there. The characters are what I think was honestly the part that fell short. The present day characters ended up feeling very hollow, and I don't feel like there was really any growth of character in Jax. I'm still struggling to wrap my head around how I got to the ending we did.
If you want something that is intriguing and a bit spooky but isn't super deep, This is for you.
Jax's spiral in the last fourth of the book who was weird at best, concerning at worse.
Especially since no one around her seems to notice this change, and she falls into an episode of Psychosis. Especially in comparison to the Jax who had shown up a week earlier.
This whole happenstance, and subsequent death just ended up leaving a gross taste in my mouth.
