The Regional Office is Under Attack!

DID NOT FINISH

DNF - wanted to like this, it has a lot of interesting elements, but they just didn't come together in a way that drew me into the story.

Only read if you can comfortably and completely suspend disbelief. If so, it's a vividly written, slightly vexing little Hallmark movie of a book. If not, it will Make You Miserable that you spent time on it.

Worked for me well enough :)

Utterly adorable friends to lovers, arranged marriage fantasy romance. I feel so mean not giving the last star, because this book had so much I liked -- gentle laugh out loud humour, zero "plot driving" miscommunications between our protagonists -- and yet. And yet, the fantasy side of it felt too slight, given the arc of that side of the plot. I didn't feel much urgency or worry about what was going on outside the main relationship, and it shouldn't have been that ignorable.

Might just be me and my pandemic-slump ... will leave it a while and then hunt down Book 2 in the series.
