I rate this 4 and a half star. It’s missing that half to make a 5 because I WISH THERE WAS MORE!!!!!
This book for me was just amazing.
I loved the spice scenes like WOWO. But just the relationship between Lilith and Death was so romantic. The way he spoke to her was beautiful, how he was infatuated by her as a person and her beauty.
The ending really left me crying, I know it’s a happy ending but it also felt sad at the same time. But I honestly loved this book so much, as soon as I finished it I ordered the hardcover and the hardcover cover made me cry even more. I think I’m overly sensitive

This is my first ever military dark romance and guess what?
I DEVOURED THIS BOOK. First of all my number one priority is to tell you guys that the MMC Bradshaw is SO HOT! The author drew her own art! She made him look so insanely gorgeous like ergh

I AM UNWELL. This author really wants to get us emotional I swear!!! Another 2am up crying over a book she has written!
It was wonderful, the representation of mental health I thought she had written really well and I related to some of it so that tugged on my heart strings a lot. The characters are really well written, I love Liam, Lanston and Wynn. It was a really good book but has left me so emotional. Like how good her writing is that 2 of her books have left me weeping in the middle of the night. At this point she’s got to be a favourite author for me

I AM DESTROYED. I AM BROKEN.
This book was so beautifully written, it genuinely calls to the romantic Pisces in me. It was so poetic, so beautiful, so ethereal just so otherworldly. This is an amazing spin off following Lanston and honestly if you’ve read The fabric of our souls. Please read this. Yes your heart will shatter at the end, but it’s just so worth it. I am so in love with this book and the cover. I can’t even look at it right now without crying. I love Lanston and Ophelia so much and I love that I got to know more about Lanston’s lore. He was one of my favourites in The fabric of our souls. I also relate to Ophelia in some ways and her story made me cry it really did. I just can’t say how much I love this book, it’s so memorable.
Honestly please read it, it’s beautiful

I was given the opportunity to read this for free from the author and to give an honest review!
Positives:
I liked Damien’s character, I thought he reminded me of deadpool or of starlord, he’s sarcastic and has a lot of funny commentary that made me laugh to myself a few times.
There’s also good banter between characters which I liked.
The romance slightly reminded me of fifth element, where leeloo who can’t speak English and is alien comes into Korbens life and they fall in love.
This very much reminded me of a comedy show you see on tv!
Negatives -
I felt the romance was rushed and kind of happened abruptly.
I also didn’t find there to be much connection with the other characters, and there was also a lot of characters being involved and I got lost a few times on who was who.
I didn’t feel like there was much world building either, I found it hard to imagine the surroundings Damien found himself in a lot of the times as there wasn’t much description.
I think the cover was confusing at first as it looks like it’s a horror but it really isn’t!

I really enjoyed this book! I love Grimalkin and I love seeing his journey over the 120 years, and his judgemental commentary made me laugh ALOT! I found it super exciting when he got into the modern years.
I also really liked that at the end of each chapter he’d have his observations written down and also a factual page beneath, it was funny and interesting!
I thought this was a cute read and I liked it!
My only negative is that some of the conversations held between other characters were dragged out a bit and it got a bit boring sometimes. I know he was witnessing what was happening, I just wanted more Grimalkin than certain characters!
I feel like I would have loved for the story to start more with him growing up and being found leading to his adventures when he gets old than jumping straight in!

- Forbidden Love
- Found family
- Touch her and you die
- Strong fmc
- Dragons
- Adventure
- Slow burn/Spice
This was a really refreshing read! Mainly because I got similar vibes to game of thrones with Daenerys. It felt like it was more the happy ending for her in this reality. Both MMC and FMC are strong characters, and it’s nice to see it’s not enemies to lovers (which I do love) but allies to lovers! The spice scenes were very good, only because Cayden is pure dom
- Gothic Romance
- Forbidden Romance
- Student x Teacher
- Dark Academia
- Murder Mystery
This is my first ever Dark Academia read, and I wanna read another one now! The aesthetic and the vibes of the world buildings, it screamed Addams family/Wednesday to me. With how the castle is secluded on a mountain, it’s a boarding school, surrounded by wood and fog! The relationship between Corvina and Jade was also of a similar vibe to Wednesday and Enid which I really loved.
I loved how mysterious and suspecting Vad is, along with his dominant and possessive demeanour. But the other side to him with his caring and protective side and the aftercare? Very good. Just to put people’s minds at ease they’re 22 and 28 lol. The twists and the deaths had my jaw dropped. It’s always the nice ones huh? I thought the ending was really good and I liked that instead of a baby they had it planned but decided to adopt a dog first. It was sweet. Yes again I was also freaked out a few times, my imagination runs wild and it doesn’t help when I’m a whimp to!
I do wish this was written in first pov, it really felt like it was meant to be sometimes. That could just be me thinking that though. Having more POV from Vad would have been nice also but I guess it supports his characters mysterious side in a way!
But all in all I enjoyed this and I think it was a wonderful book that has opened the doorway to me reading more Dark Academia novels now!
