I LOVE stories about witches, so I enjoyed the facts sprinkled into the beginning about real witches/Wicca, and wish more people would educate themselves about the very things Samantha Gentry highlighted.

Devon, a witch and High Priest, attends a Halloween party to find Raina, another witch and the sister of the woman who wronged his family...one hundred years ago. He plans to use Raina to get to her sister, Miranda, but Raina also has a plan. She knows Devon has sex magick and she wants to learn everything he has to offer.

There’s a lot of back-story in the beginning so we can understand Devon’s motives. The story also switches suddenly from Devon’s perspective to Raina’s without a clear indication, which may trip up other readers although it didn’t bother me.

The plot line about revenge and finding Miranda didn’t hold up to what I was expecting, nor did it last long. I was hoping for more. Overall this was very sexy read and well written.
If you enjoy hot erotica, this story will definitely please you.

In the first book Carrie seemed wise for being so young, but in this one she felt more immature to me. I did enjoy meeting the characters from Sex and the City when she did, though, and I liked that this one was more about her writing.

3.5 stars

I was expecting this book to be like the show (which is smart, sexy and funny) and the Carrie Diaries books, but it wasn't like either. This book is in the perspective of the author, Candace Bushnell, and is a collection of rambling articles she wrote. I found myself getting a headache while following the conversations about men and sex. I got to page 60 before giving up, which I hardly ever do.

If you're a fan of the show Sex and the City, I don't recommend reading this book. (Also a first.)

While this is my review, since I didn't finish reading the book, I'm not going to give it a star rating to be fair.

Sue’s next door neighbor is a tall black-haired man who she’d only seen in glimpses and never had the chance to talk to in passing as she did with her other neighbors. When her daughter, Trudi, becomes curious over a snow angel in his yard, Sue finally meets him and realizes there’s more than meets the eye. He’s handsome and sweet, and his name is Bryn Thomas. And of course, Sue’s thoughts turn toward attraction and the need of finding someone to love her and her daughter. Bryn is determined to keep others out of his home and life, but after meeting Sue and Trudi, he finds himself wanting them in is home and life. He's mysterious and one by one we learn about his past.

This is a cute short story with a touch of sadness that turns to joy. If you like Christmas stories and light romances, this one will make you warm for the holidays.

From the beginning of “Someone to Watch Over Me” it was evident that Jerrie Alexander is a talented writer. Her words sucked me into Stacey’s story and the mystery immediately. Why does Stacey have nightmares about men with knives? We quickly learn that she‘s hiding from a man named Ray Simmons. Stacey goes back home to start over and lands a night job serving beer at a bar. I instantly fell for Stacey and her witty, sarcastic personality. Her dialogue, as well as the dialogue for all the other characters, is very convincing. She’s a well thought-out character. All of the characters, even the minor ones are developed so well that I could clearly picture them as real people without any effort.

During her second night at the bar, Stacey encounters Cash Butler, an old fling who broke her heart when he ditched her to join the Army. But why he left isn’t what she thinks. Sparks fly immediately as the past comes back to haunt them.

There’s a lot of suspense in this story with a stalker and murders as well as heat and romance.

I did notice a few minor spelling errors, but not enough that it affected my reading or enjoyment of the story. Actually, I couldn’t read this story fast enough, and I did not expect the end.

At one point, Cash’s name became Ty. I’m surprised that wasn’t caught during editing, but I know how it is as an author. There’s been times when I’ve mixed up character names. But that little slip didn’t even bother me.

If you have a thing for cowboys and enjoy romantic-suspense, check this one out!

I had a Nutcracker as a child that I loved, so I adore this book!

4.5 It was slow but got better. I liked the twists. My jaw dropped a few times, but I didn't like the ending that much because of one person's fate. That's all I'll say so I don't spoil anything. I still greatly enjoyed this trilogy though. Each book was unique and fun.

I love the unique story that Crystal Collier created with Passionate and Soulless. Passionates are ghastly as children to protect them from humanity. Then on their 16th birthday they become stunning creatures and are given amazing powers. The Soulless were once Passionate but were turned into zombie-like beings that are always hungry and come out in force during moonless nights.

I adored the first book in this series, Moonless. Right from the beginning of book one, you’re promised a dark mystery. There’s also heart-pounding romance that had me swooning. I devoured this book and wanted more immediately.

With Soulless, Alexia and Kiren want to get married but their wedding day doesn’t happen when and how they want it to when the Soulless become wedding crashers. Throughout this book Alexia learns how to use her power to control time, and it was nice seeing her wield it and become more powerful. The times when she went back in time were very well written and intriguing.

There’s a ton of suspense in this story, so much, in fact, that I had a hard time from stopping my jaw from unhinging. The ending promises a great third book, Timeless. I sure hope it has a happy ending, though. Crystal, hint, hint. ;)
