Over kinked

Not a big fan of this one tbh. The previous book while questionable had a bit more of a believable plot but this one was a bit dragged out and the kink over done and often confusing!

Im new to the RH world so I took a lot of this on the basis that it was the norm for the genre.

That being said, i underestimated the level of smut that would be present. It was relentless which works for the genre of course but took away from the plot development and purpose. Everything was also incredibly fast from the meeting to their coupling to the mating which took away from the slow burn element which i usually enjoy.

Great for fans of the genre as there are tons of dominating males to get to grips with! All have unique personalities which was very humorous throughout.

DNF at 48%
What started out as something that could have been very interesting and unique eventually became dragged out and dry. Im aware this is a series but a RH with no smut by 48% doesnt make any sense to me. The plot was non existent and while there was some humour in the dialogue of the MC, it was just incredibly boring.

This book wasn't nearly as explosive as the media would like you to believe.
It is very expository and real but above all, its emotional.

Prince Harry has so obviously been through a lot as a second son and he spent the majority of his formative years trying to find his way in the world.
I respect that many people believe being royal means everything is perfect and Harry makes it so abundantly clear that this is not the case. Harry suffered with PTSD, anxiety, grief, denial etc, but what makes it sadder, is that there was no real reason for allowing him to feel this way. If he had a more supportive family, a lot of his feelings could have been guided in to much more positive ways. In the same breath though, if he'd not been ignored and separated in this way, I doubt he would have become the enigmatic, brave and down to earth person that he is.
Highly disappointed in William and Kate if this is to be believed - i do believe - because there shouldnt have been anything that could come between brothers in this way. However extreme their reactions may seem, theyre perfectly believable just because of their damning silence.

Its sad that he had to go through so much trauma, basically in order to become a normal person.
I respect his bravery to speak his truth in this way and wish he and his family all the best now that they are as free as they can be, from the disgusting behaviours of his family and the media.

As before, the world building in this novel is amazing and i really enjoyed getting to grips with the rules in the different realms and learning what the different races were capable of. It really is a fun read full of laugh out loud moments, sweet moments and the fantasy romance that we all really love!
I especially enjoyed the relationship between Nikki and Aaron. I would have loved it the plot focused on them more than it did as Nikki is an amazing character and Aaron is just supremely hot!

Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the extensive world that Sara has created. By book 3 the characters all feel like old friends and seeing their lives develop under this new age of power has been really interesting. I loved the focus couple of this novel, Max and Delia and even though i was a little annoyed with him in the beginning, Max ended up with a special place in my romantic heart by the end.
Great to add to the fantasy collection.

Having followed Esme on Instagram, I was intrigued by the premise of her story and the mystery and excitement from the blurb did not disappoint.

As per my review headline, the word use and descriptions in this book are EVERYTHING! Esme has done such a great job of putting the reader in the scenes/world that you are able to really understand the world that the antagonist Mason has created. I liked the mesh of myth/post apocalyptic/medieval setting of the book which was really well done.

My main issue though would have to be the pacing. What started out really hard hitting and action packed, lagged during the middle of the book. While it was good to meet new characters and expand the world, some scenes felt unnecessary and at times dragged out which didn't help push the urgency of Maya's predicament.

That aside, i genuinely enjoyed the feisty MC and the sadistic villain in Mason. Their interactions were really entertaining and i found myself waiting for those parts to see what witty cruel comebacks he could find which was fun.

Wolves of Duty is a story so special to me because it is the book i have always wanted to write. It is by no means perfect but its perfect to me.
While featuring a black cast was important to me to do after my trilogy and prequel, it was more about featuring a narrative that was not based in trauma or oppression as so many black fiction books are prone to do. While there are many stories to tell in this setting, i did not want to add to it and Duty is my love letter to Black Excellence.
Its a book about self discovery, about love, about friendship and about betrayal. It might seem cliche but its not your 'typical' werewolf book because its so much more than that. Its not about dominating Alphas being in heat or helpless virgins waiting to be deflowered by a hunky wolf named Connor lol
Duty is about a young woman who has unconsciously being mentally abused and her fight to escape a world that would deny her the right to be free of her obligations and use her for their own nefarious aims. Duty is a fantasy snapshot of a world we are slowly regressing into and I hope that people take from it, the passion and depth that went into writing it.

This first book in The Antonides Legacy series is dear to my heart because of how long I spent writing it and its sequels. It was my first project towards becoming and seeing myself as a writer and while it has many many flaws lol it has heart and imagination that I still really enjoy after twenty years. I released the entire trilogy in 2020 but had been writing it since 2006.
In many ways, Trista is me in that she is (as i was) a sheltered young woman who finally grows into her own. While I may not be a long lost princess (here's hoping!) I did grow into the person i'd always wanted to be and releasing these books, sharing my work and my passion with the world was the first step towards doing that.
I hope that many can enjoy my work as it currently stands and who knows, a special, revamped edition may appear in the future!
