this was a great book! very easily digestible. bring tissues. even though there is still plenty of positivity to counteract the sadness highly recommend it to those looking to make political progress, fight for lgbtq rights, or better understand trans people. 

 
there are definitely some squeamish hunting scenes which I had to skip. overall if you like alone, survivor, or other reality TV like that I think you'd like this. while entertaining I felt the ending was a bit lacking. and I didn't enjoy some of the more grotesque stuff. 

 tiktok rec. the writing was not great. plot went so fast and many events/details were glossed over. not really into the whole motorcycle gang thing, just seemed like colt would be a hottie. for the most part he was and he had good lines. just the other stuff made this less enjoyable overall to me. has potential. 

um this was so cute! dont be fooled by the cover. I was grinning uncontrollably the whole time. 

is it cheesy? yes. but I really enjoyed the main characters. there is so much inclusivity in this book. dual pov. there are also cats, a tattooed love interest, and a library. I mean...c'mon. so so so cute! highly recommend it if you're looking for a light easy read, I devoured this.

some scenes ended abruptly and the twist was a bit predictable. still very enjoyable.

this is great for CoHo lovers im sure but not my taste.  friends with benefits trope is fine.  spice was just ok.  

dual pov, but more like flashback style. but the guy's pov is annoying. the way he talks/thinks is just so juvenile even for an 18 year old. there are also moments like this of the female's. I just didn't enjoy them

I liked the beginning and the end, but the middle was a bit boring to me and drawn out. because this is historical fiction based in medieval times it felt like reading a classic novel that goes tries going against gender norms for women. the russian folklore is cool.

i did not realize this was a series. i will like not read the rest. im not big on historical fiction or classics and  so at times it was a bit off-putting to me. there are also some grotesque scenes and uncomfortable scenes.

good for others, just not my jam.

I liked the fantasy, audiobook narrator was good. I did have a hard time keeping up with the dofferent povs which would have been easier with the physical book. but I do love multiple povs. ending didn't feel super satisfying to me. I did like the characters.

the author's note at the end did change my perspective. I wish I actually heard it prior to reading, but I understand why it was at the end.

this is such a cute read. would be perfect for spooky season. very cozy mystery vibes. cheesy romance. etc. 

 I have mixed feelings here. I feel like the series could have ended on the previous book. this was sort of like a standalone. same characters/world but different MC. nesta this time. I did like nesta's turmoil and cassian's flirting was top notch. the ending felt rushed. the switched the audiobook narrator 👎 

 man did she make you wait a long time for the one scene everything was building up to. the ending was predictable. I mostly stuck this series out to see whodunit. this was my first RH it was interesting, but I don't think it is for me. spicy scenes were just hit or miss for me.
