All in all, I did enjoy the book. I love myself a good vampire novel, and this delivered. I much preferred this to many other vampire books I have read, but as good as this is it certianly has flaws.
1. The bad guy they had been stressed about for 300 and some odd pages was absolutely and utterly destroyed in, like... 2 pages.
2. Sunshine had good character development, I think. She's just a kid in this book (18 is a kid to me, hush, and she had several ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) moments, which the age alone made me uncomfortable) and at the end she's still a kid, but different and scared and learning.
3. Con is my child and I love him.
4. The "goddess" was introduced in the last bit was a treated as such a big issue but really had so little impact.
5. I didn't know who many of the people/slangs are. Forgive me if I'm just ignorant and can't recall minuite details, but... "com" equipment, " 'of"... where is the explanation? Who is Kenny? Oh that's her brother? ????

At first, I got this book because it was free for my kindle. I wasn't expecting much, just your basic fun cheesy adventure.
Oh. Boy. How wrong I was!
Lindon is a boy who was born without madra. This leads much of his own village, even his family to an extent, to brush him aside because he is "unsouled". Everyone can relate to Lindon! He's a gangly and underestimated but witty teen with incredible courage and a determination to save the village he loves, no matter the cost.
Get this one. Now I HAVE to read the rest of them. I spend through this one in 2 days!

This book was SO GOOD! I really didnt get hooked until about 50-60% though, so I had to delve more into it.

This was a blast! Who doesn't love reading medical weirdness in a fun way?
I found this book because I enjoy Kang's fictional works, and I decided, aw heck, why not give this a go? Boy, I'm glad I did!
What might you expect from this book? Think Caitlin Doughty, but more light, and a lot more specific than Mary Roach. Or, The Sawbones podcast crammed into a book (that isn't the Sawbones book).
All in all, if you enjoy medical history or just wanna spout weird facts at Christmas dinner ("Did you know yee olde doctors would shove leeches up butts to resolve prostate issues?"), then I say give this one a go, sit back, and laugh at the dumb stuff we used to do to try and fix our medical issues.

Oh my gosh, I forgot this book existed until I looked at a skeleton and went, "Hey! There's a book with that!" So then I picked this up.
Ah! A delight!
Yeah, it's a middle-junior grade novel, so I was kinda worried our main heroine was gonna be that girl who was "nOt lIkE oThER gIRlS" when Stephanie was introduced. But I love her. She's sassy, she's snarky, and stubborn. So a teenager. Your average teen. She ALSO is not a sue-ish character, which is refreshing to see in books geared more at young people. She doesn't even utilize her magic in the book and is only able to summon a widdwe biddy baby flame at the end of book one. She develops and hones her skills with practice and time.
Skullduggery is a sassy detective skeleton and I love him. He could roast me for hours and I would thank him. The end.
Last 10% was a little rushed (ah! Everything happens! I'm getting whiplash from trying to keep up!) But I enjoyed the whole book so much that I didn't really even care.
TLDR: come for the story, stay for skeleton. The end.
