Guess who stayed up late to finish this?? Me!

Oh my gosh, I forgot this book existed until I looked at a skeleton and went, "Hey! There's a book with that!" So then I picked this up.

Ah! A delight!

Yeah, it's a middle-junior grade novel, so I was kinda worried our main heroine was gonna be that girl who was "nOt lIkE oThER gIRlS" when Stephanie was introduced. But I love her. She's sassy, she's snarky, and stubborn. So a teenager. Your average teen. She ALSO is not a sue-ish character, which is refreshing to see in books geared more at young people. She doesn't even utilize her magic in the book and is only able to summon a widdwe biddy baby flame at the end of book one. She develops and hones her skills with practice and time.

Skullduggery is a sassy detective skeleton and I love him. He could roast me for hours and I would thank him. The end.

Last 10% was a little rushed (ah! Everything happens! I'm getting whiplash from trying to keep up!) But I enjoyed the whole book so much that I didn't really even care.

TLDR: come for the story, stay for skeleton. The end.
