A solid 3.5 stars from me. I was pleased at how likeable and relatable Alana was. Her character felt true to a teenage girl with real traumas and fears. I also loved how she spoke of those fears and traumas and how she felt about it. She had a great message. As for the monster herself, I thought the concept of the memory eater was so cool. A giant creature made from faces? So cool. The thought of a creature like that being loose was truly eerie. I didn't always like the pacing and some dialogue felt like it didn't belong but I did enjoy.

I've fallen out of love with romcoms lately because they've all started to feel the same but BOOYYY this was fun! Fluff, drama, steaminess, humor, AND a run through the airport moment?! This felt a little over the top at times but that made this so fantastic. Zara and Jay were the perfect opposites attract pairing. I can't wait to read more by Sara Desai.

This was so heartwarming and fun! I loved the "supernatural" aspect of the multigenerational ghosts, Mari being cursed after not following a family tradition, and then realizing her family is the best and there's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a adventurous and fun story to help kids be proud of their heritage and that's amazing.

DNF at 40%. Uh...this was... not good. It was so bland and boring and nothing felt fleshed out enough and somehow there was still plenty of details? Like details that didn't matter? Dialogue that didn't matter? The romance was so lackluster and bad I can't even remember their names. I was hoping for a swoony and sweet romcom and I was left disappointed.

I've wanted to read this since I binged Anne With An E and I finally made it happen. I was afraid this would be too intimidating to read, but, I was surprised that this was actually very easy to understand and get into. I loved Jane immediately. I felt her highs and I felt her lows. I felt the sparks between her and Rochester. I loved reading her life's journey and this is now one of my favorite classics ever.

Yeah...no. I feel like I've been catfished. Reading the synopsis and it sounds amazing but it was actually misleading. It was a bit darker than I thought it would be, which I actually did enjoy. I didn't enjoy the conspiracy theory/media twist it had. I wanted aliens and I didn't really get that. The ending, as in the final scene, did make me gasp. But that's it.

I love a good pirate fantasy and boy this delivered. The way this author wrote this story felt so magical. There were so many elements of whimsy and wonder. I loved the characters, the world, the time period, the dialogue, the plot, and the mythology of it. Were there moments that felt silly and out of place? Yes. Did some of it feel over the top? Yes. But it's a pirate fantasy story, just enjoy the ride.

Since this was my first mafia love I was a bit nervous about it but it was such a good story! Libby made a super relatable character and her growth was fun to read. This had so much packed into it, steamy romance, new friendships, self searching, suspense, and mystery... It could literally be a movie. A solid 4.5 stars from me!

I wasn't expecting this but this was so incredibly beautiful and enchanting, I immediately fell in love. The first couple chapters were a bit jarring because I was expecting something slightly different, but I was quickly sucked in by the authors descriptions of sea creatures and life. Poetry, magical realism and fantasy are blended together to bring you this story of wonder. Solid 4.75 stars.

This was a lot more grittier and raw than most YA books and that's why I'm giving it a higher rating than I normally would. There's injustice, grief, action, and so many themes going on that this is an emotional read. I loved Chap and Aris' characters and that storyline. I will say that I believe there's maybe a few too many characters introduced, but overall, I loved the darker take on YA genre.
